Does anyone have any insight into the recent flight changes for the JetBlue flight from Orlando to San Jose in late October 2014? It now leaves at 8:00 AM from Orlando, arriving at 9:07 AM in San Jose. That's at least 2.5 hrs earlier than last month. It also leaves San Jose back to Orlando 1.5 hours earlier than last month. Is this the start of JetBlue having a second MCO-SJO flight leaving later in the day? Does anyone know anything about this?

I've been driving over to Orlando from Clearwater to make a 10:30AM flight and that's been OK. I'm not so sure about making an 8:00AM flight, but Spirit or American are just too much BS. COPA, via Panama City is twice the JetBlue fare and has the one stop while JetBlue is direct.

As of October 26, JetBlue will change the departure time between Orlando and San Jose. The flight will depart Orlando at 8 am and arrive in San Jose at 9:07 am. The return flight will depart San Jose at 10:03 am and arrive in Orlando at 3:09 pm. When Daylight Savings Time ends on November 2, the Orlando departure time will remain at 8 am, but the arrival time in San Jose will be 10:07 am. The return flight will depart San Jose at 11:03 am and arrive in Orlando at 3:09 pm.

On December 18, they will add a second flight, leaving Orlando at 2:18 pm, arriving in San Jose at 4:30 pm; then leaving San Jose at 5:26 pm and arriving in Orlando at 9:30 pm.

An option you may want to check on is to rent a hotel room the night before departure. Many of the hotels near the airport will allow you to leave your car at the hotel if you rent a room for one night. They will also provide transportation to and from the airport. The savings on parking will help offset the cost of the room. The hotel won't assume responsible for your car while parked at their hotel, but that is the same as if you are staying at the hotel.

A few weeks ago, the Jet Blue flight 39 (FLL-SJO) was rescheduled from a 10:20 departure to a 9:30am departure which made the arrival time about 10am instead of 10:40am. The good thing is it now misses the noon rush of U.S. flight arrivals so an easier immigration line. With all the new flights being added, I would bet SJO had to move around the landing slot times to accommodate the new flights but that is just my guess.

I don't know about arriving in SJO at 4:30...rush hour! Hell, it might take an hour or more for the ride from the airport to the hotel.

You are exactly right Tim...between about 4pm-7pm, it will most likely take at least an hour to get downtown perhaps as much as two!

Yeah, it's kind of funny when some of the taxi drivers take the 'back-way' into town from the airport, through Uruca, claiming that it is a short-cut. Unless there is an accident on the 'main' highway, that route usually doesn't save that much time, if any.
