I've been all around Costa Rica for about a week now. I'm trying to end the trip with a bang. I'm totally new to 'mongering' or any of that stuff. I'm just looking for some guidance on what I can do to finish the trip. Here are some facts about me:

I'm traveling by myself, Spanish is pretty bad.

I can either be in San Jose on Friday and Saturday night or just Saturday night, still undecided.

I do not like the mongering game, the clubbing game. I was in jaco earlier and ended up getting totally scammed so in already kinda annoyed.

Ideally id love to just have one girl (or two) for an entire day and just screw around a ton,
Rather than have this whole thing be session based, even of that means it might be a bit more.

Open to advice or company if anyone else could help me out. Much appreciated!

If you haven't booked your accommodations yet, I would recommend booking a room at the Hotel del Rey. It's the place you want to be if you're new to the scene, because you're quite literally in the middle of all the action. The world famous Blue Marlin Bar is right down in the lobby, and meeting women there for fun times is like shooting fish in a barrel. And since you're in town for just a short time, you won't want to be wandering around lost trying to acclimate. Just to let you know, the del Rey is a nice hotel, but it's no five star digs. Expect about what you would find at a decent three star hotel in the United States. Save the luxury accommodations for later trips, because the luxury properties tend to be located a bit outside of the areas of main attraction.:

Next, I'd recommend you stay two nights instead of just one. You'll be having such a blast that you'll regret it if you arrive in San Jose and find you have to leave the very next morning.

Sorry you got scammed in Jaco, but there's a bit more oversight of the scene at the del Rey. It's far from perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it's better than nothing. If you are scammed, report it to the hotel staff. They don't like scam artists on the property because it's bad for business.

You can meet women who will spend a day or more with you in Costa Rica, but it's far more common to find that situation in places like Thailand where a woman will spend weeks on end with you if you really hit it off with her. Best of luck on this front, but you might discover finding such a situation to be a challenge in the short time you have available to you.

Most of all, relax and have fun! You'll meet plenty of guys at the Blue Marlin who will be happy to serve as your wing man just because they like to introduce others to the scene and make sure they have a good time on their maiden voyage. So don't worry about being a newbie. You'll find yourself fitting in quickly.

Thanks.

Call the Rey and ask about rates. The rack rate is one thing. But there can be substantial discounts that depend on the occupancy that they expect for your dates. They have been known to negotiate with potential customers. Ask about rates for rooms on the upper floors to avoid traffic noise all night long.

The Rey charges you $11 for each girl who you take to your room - - - - the "chica fee".

Also check the rates at the Morazan, which is a safe, easy, one-block walk from the Rey. The Morazan does NOT charge a chica fee - - - - and their room rates are comparable to the Rey.

Ask ScoreS and Mona Lisa for their rates, too. Their rooms are VERY nice. Although they are not exactly "ground zero" , they are 3 - 4 blocks away from the Rey, and are in the same price range as the Rey. ScoreS offers their guests a free girl (1/2 hour) from their line-up every day - - included in the room rate.

Buy a membership in CRT. The $39 fee for one year will get discounts for you on many things in CR that will save you more than the $39 fee in just a few days on the ground.

When I called recently, the room rate they quoted me for a standard queen during low season was $55.00 a night. During the high season, that rate goes up quite a bit, so you'll want to get your trip in by early October if you're on a budget.
