The only helipad I've seen a turbine powered chopper landing on in the Jaco area is a 10-15mins drive from Jaco at Los Suenos.

Maybe they have an LZ in Jaco.

I've seen piston powered Robinsons land at an LZ that's a 10 min drive south of Jaco and hermosa on a private grass strip airport. That was many years ago.

Find out on where they plan on landing in Jaco.

The new party bus from the Amistad may be the way to go.

The La Amistad Party Bus is definitely the way to go. No bathroom on the chopper and less dangerous(depending on who is driving the bus).
Don't give the driver tequila shots, and don't let your girlfriend sit on his lap.

Ask the heli operator if they can get permission to land in Jaco, e.g. an open lot in the town. The U.S. rule was that as long as one had the landowner's permission, one could make at least one landing without an issue with authorities. For repetitive landings a permit would be needed. The few flights I made here was from approved heli pads and/or an airport. Also, this time of year I'd be cautious of the weather, ams usually best time to fly.

I totally agree with you guys. The prices are outrageous. It was just an idea and now that I know were going to be traveling by ground. While spending the rest on chicks and booze. The information may still be useful to any ballers out there. But for me its too rich for my blood.

Is this a joke? Who has that kind of money to burn? Spend it on good food, good booze, fine women and a van to your destination, but not necessarily in that order.

Have you seen the income that even mediocre hedge-fund managers and investment bankers make? Or maybe he struck it rich by leasing off owned land to a shale oil outfit. Spending money on this AND all the big fun you outlined are not mutually exclusive; Bro CRGolfer presents good arguments against doing this but money isn't one of them.
BIGGER PICTURE: the dude comes to what he thinks is a trusted source with an honest neutral question and gets a sh!tstorm of abuse and negativity for his troubles. Is that how y'all wish us to be perceived? Really?

It's been a while, so I thought I'd do a drive-by and toss a grenade into the room.

There are Two operators in San Jose who will ferry up to three passengers to Jaco. Whether they can take all three and their bags depends upon how many bags and how much they weigh.

The price (one-way) should be no more than $650. I've used both, and they are reliable.

It is a great way to get to Jaco in style. The operators are based at the airport in Pavas, but they will pick you up at SJO. A realistic SJO to Jaco time is about 20 - 25 minutes.

No more info will be given. Good Luck.

Srilm,
If I remember correctly, you "left" the board for a while because you felt that you were being unfairly attacked. However, look at this post. You said that there are 2 operators but didn't give a name or contact info, and you added that you will not say any more about it, so what exactly did the OP gain from your post? :? And I'm pretty sure that the last sentence will elicit a negative reaction from the board also.

It's irritating when guys post some partial info (to show that they know something) but then refuse to post any more about it. Guys do that often regarding chicas. It's like they want the board to know that they are in the know, but they don't want to share any info because it's personal or they promised not to.

He didn't have to be more explicit, because I had already been. You could make the argument that he could've said exactly which operators he used but I got the impression he felt they were all good and it was only dependent on price and personal comfort with an operator. He didn't throw a grenade into the room; I did. He merely expanded upon previous comments. Now about all that negativity shown about the very idea...that's another thing entirely. I'm just glad he's back in whatever capacity and don't appreciate efforts to send him away again. It's always good to have another adult voice in the room.
PS--Bro Srilm--shoot me a PM--let's talk. Thank you.

Srilm I always enjoyed reading your posts about the airline industry. I wish you would post here more often but it appears that is very unlikely.

Bro Srilm is on his way to making CRT relevant again (remember the sage advice Bro Prolijo used to give?--much of it still "on-the-money"). My opinion only...

They will usually weigh your carry-on -- something U.S. passengers are not used to.

Not only carry-on, they have scales at the Nature Air check-in counter for passengers to step on. Don't worry, the weight is only visible on their monitors. :P Weight is a huge deal in small planes, too many people die each year in overweight planes.

Srilm, I am flying Sansa directly into Tamarindo this trip. I usually fly to Liberia from SJO. Is Tamarindo a good landing strip?

I am glad to hear that. I have flown into many a small airport in small planes. I remember the puddle jumpers from Miami to Key West back in the 70's and 80's. I like Sansa air, so all should be well. I did not know they had a selection of working girls in Tamarindo. I am there to surf so I am usually in bed (alone) at an early hour. Is there a certain collection of bars I should be going to? Thanks for the info.
