Been reading all the posts. Very helpful. I'll be in CR on 9/25-28 for the first time. I've been to Peru, El Salvador, and Ecuador. Hopefully I can meet up with CRT members to hang. Looking to stay at La Amistad. I haven't booked my hotel room yet. When should I do so? Also, where is the best spot to watch UFC on the 28th? Thanks, Rico

would highly recommend booking asap as you never know and the hotel/room you want can easily be booked up depending on how many depraved individuals are in town during that time
as far as any sporting events the SL is a good choice and walking distance from your hotel

Hey LAdiablo, Thanks for the heads up and advice. Can't wait to get there. Was hoping to go with a friend but backed out last minute and so a man has to do what a man has to do and I booked my flight. I figure I'll work it out as I go. Since I'm there for only a couple of days (Thursday to a Sunday) I'll just feel my way around in San Jose and then try to do Jaco the next time.

I'm looking to hit the major spots like SL, DR, Scores, and a couple of MPs (any suggestions) and just try and enjoy myself. Thanks again my friend. Hope to meet you one day. First round on me.

Look on Craigslist CR for pictures. There are several cuties there. 12,000 1/2 hr. Very clean rooms. Gringo owner on the scene is Robert. You can call him for advice and availability. Open Sundays. Walk in the daylight. Taxi at night.

You are going to have a blast. You've been around, so you're not a new monger. Since I have never been anywhere but San Jose, I'd say to evaluate the attitudes in the HDR and such against the other places that you have been to.

Many sharks in the independent waters ... not sure if it's the same in other places ... haven't had the courage to look yet.
