Sundays slow?
IMHO it is one great reason to have a great wingman with lots of hot phone numbers...

Could not agree more :) - sorry, but if you are depending on the HDR, KL, or Sportsmans - you are missing the boat.

We had a thread recently about the Cocal in Jaco - and in thinking back some compared the place to the HDR as the "go to" place - and it is if you are new, or don't care to expand your horizons (some of the guys I know who have been traveling to CR for over 20 years have never expanded their thoughts beyond the HDR and the KL, and believe if you pay more than the asking price, you will receive more back    :? )

Don't get me wrong - the places mentioned are fun to visit, to look around, have a drink - but if that's where you find the vast majority of your "company" - I think you need to develop some contacts of your own and expand past these venues.

A guy who has 20 trips, all to the HDR, and knows New Fantasy, Scores, HLH (sorry, can't call it anything else :) love that name) is still a newbi.

What is the best thing you can do to learn the gulch, and get past the newbi stage - well, since I did it some years ago, with BangBang57 - is take a tour with Ken, the above author.

Frankly, if more guys did this, we would lave less cluelessness, and a ramped up learning curve.

I don't recall anyone ever not raving after taking a tour

My wingy's & I just spent 8-9 says in sjo, including the last 2 Sundays. In the daytime it is advisable to pre-plan as all venues are very slow. I set up in advance some fine companionship for mid-day both Sundays while other mongers were left wanting. Both Sunday evenings, the DelRey had plenty of available talent after 9:30pm.
