What should it be jaco beach or SJ. Not sure which destination is best for selection of working girls.
Any insight would be great. Also can you recommend a hotel that is close to the action.. I leave August 22. I will report my day to day activities..

San Jose for mongering is hands down far better - Jaco during the time you will be visiting is going to be hot - and you will likely deal with a lot of rain.

The go to place there is the Cocal, and in August you should be able to get a room - but if you are going for the girls, no question, stay in SJ.

Lots of info on Jaco if you do a search - the place/topic seems to inspire passion in many guys - as I've posted previously, its worth seeing to see what you think - but the venues for girls during the day are very limited, and the manin place The Cocal, is full of the nonsense you find at the DelRey.

Hate to disagree Scuba but if you want quality, Jaco is by far the better place hands down. I see 2-3 a night I like in the DR on most nights. Last three nights I've been in Jaco and saw 15-20 a night I'd have liked. Not only that, the ratio of girls to guys is extremely high. My buddies were estimating 15 to 1 up to 20 to 1 and I'd agree.



I agree, a lot of nonsense but the daytime action has really picked up. None of my buddies had problems finding daytime action around the Cocal pool this past week/weekend. The competition has gotten so fierce, a LOT of girls (20-30) are hanging around the pool from 10am on. And the quality is still very high...

Jaco - the Cocal especially - reminds me of one giant HDR, with all the resultant BS - girls asking high prices, newbi's paying it......

It does not surprise me that there is daytime action around the pool - but there are not any MP's, nor a lot of daytime venues - like bars. Not Canciones, but another hotel close by in years past had limited day time action - so it was always "there" just not very reliable.

Look, I'm glad your friends found what they were looking for - I think Jaco is made for the newbi with a few bucks in his pocket - I was just there in Feb, and the previous year, and the one before that and so on and so on - always found the place expensive, the girls expensive, and the offerings limited - but then, I don't rely on the HDR or the KL in San Jose.

Its good to have a difference of opinion, especially if we can express it w/out getting into name calling or personal attacks - and I suspect both of us are correct - but I'm unlikely to chance your mind - or your groups, and for sure you are not gonna change mine - so I'll wish you the best and say you write well and have always been a gentleman

I don't know this from personal experience because I haven't been to Jaco since Cocal became the go-to place, but it would seem that the chicas are asking very high prices (150) and settling for still above the going rate (100-120). This makes sense because with some many deep pockets there, they hold out knowing a sucker will come along any moment.

I'm guessing later at night, there are good deals to be had once desperation sets in.

I would think that as the chicas do not live there, and actually have 'expenses' themselves, it does become more important to them to negotiate the later in the evening it gets.

Personally I just can't see leaving SJ to go to hot, humid, South Florida conditions to pay higher prices for higher-quality HDR girls. The beach scene is available to me daily, so it has no attraction to me.

You would be correct, IMO - but not at the Cocal - maybe at the Beatle or the Monkey bar - Cocal closes sharply at midnight

I agree w/ you BD - but they have expenses in San Jose, too - in Jaco its not at all uncommon to pack 4 -6 - or more - girls into a room for the weekend. It does not make some of them rocket scientists - you know, having expenses, but turning down $80 vs the $150 she asked - as I said, the place impresses me like a HDR on steroids, populated by newbi's who don't care what they pay, and are new at the whole game.

I do agree with your points Scuba...and appreciate debating the point like gentleman. The Cocal girls do seem more difficult to negotiate with and do want higher prices. My personal take on it is you get what you pay for. You can't buy a Ferrari for the same price a Toyota Camry sells for. They both do the job and both look good but one is just so damn sexy

I think San Jose is more for the hardcore monger who needs 4-5 girls a day to be happy. This guy wants nothing but a lot of sex out of his trip. He will go from MP to MP all day long (like a visiting BB57 ), eat, drink, shit and hit DR/KL at night. He wants nothing more out of his trips than sex.

Jaco has so much more to do than sex and that to me is one of the big advantages. From Jaco, you can be fishing, on a zip line, riding ATV and a whole lot more in ten minutes. From San Jose, doing any of that is an all day adventure with a lot of time spent in a car.

Jaco is also for the guys that are looking for the hottest girls. The quality in DR vs. Cocal is night and day. A girl I see in DR that is the hottest of the hot won't even make my top 10 in Jaco. Being a quality guy not a quantity guy I just think for me, I'd go to Jaco.

I'll be going in Aug as well and will be my first time. The asking price they want is that for all night long with them or just a one shot deal (1/2hr) ?

Closer to an hour; certainly not for all night (Then again, even in San Jose, its not easy to do an all nighter for $100 - 125)

I have to agree with Scuba1 on this one. In full disclosure, I live in San Jose and my business is here as well. SJO has a wide choice of venues at all prices. For company and hotels. The prices are competitive because you don't have to compete with the high rollers who spend a lot on sport fishing, golf, fancy digs and chicas.
SJO has many things to keep you occupied, theater, symphony, museums (new Jade museum just opened), convenient day trips for all activities and not expensive. SJO does not have a beach or many $150 chicas asking price. I might mention great cigars in SJO
SJO has many different restaurant venues, shopping venues and tons of non working chicas. It is the capitol of CR and most of the population lives here. The ticos are friendly and you will have a great time in SJO. Temperature is about 79:81 everyday and lower 60's at night. Humidity about 68. Great place to walk.
That being said, if my business and home was close to Jaco, I would probably give you a different take. It only makes sense.

5 trips to cocal i have never been asked for more then $100....from very hot girls
13 trips to san jose only once have i been asked for more than $100
I find it funny that guys who travel alot to costa rica San jose and post alot run into nothing but hard core pros at DR/KL/cocal who ask for $100 or more
Not wanting to get into a pissing contest with anyone but the cocal is not filled with newbies
just guys who dont mind spending a $100 and im sure in some cases more
In the end it just shows basic economics people have different preferences

I have been traveling to San Jose for 13 years. I just finished my first trip to Jaco staying at the Cocal. The quality of women at the Cocal is much higher than Del Rey. and as much as i enjoy San Jose I am going back to Cocal as soon as I can afford it
