With primary focus on San Jose, which would be a better time to go?

Option (A) -- Nov. 20-Dec. 1st
Option (B) -- Dec. 18-Jan. 2nd

Would also be going to Guanacaste but that's for business.

This is my first-ever post and I'd be grateful for any thoughts... Thank you.

I vote for option A; Christmas is a big deal in CR, including for the working girls and many are off the job then and with their families, but it is still possible to get laid during that time. The HDR, SL and MPs will be open that week. Christmas Day?, check your local listings.

Very true, "A" without a doubt, especially if you are new to CR

Thank you Jawanker and PhD. I appreciate your input.

Bit of a followup -- how is the humidity in late November? My only previous trip to SJ was in late June and I found it too humid/dew-pointy for my liking (it was a business-motivated trip so I had no choice on timing).

It is the end of rainy season in CR in November. It is more humid than for example, La Vegas but really not like South Florida. San Jose is really very temperate because of the altitude, most of the year. Usually I rarely use AC.

A is the better choice, if you're forced to come down during Xmas, many girls are out of town with their families, the only silver lining is many girls who don't ho often who are regular Ticas with regular jobs will head to the Del Rey or SL to pick up a few extra Xmas dollars, if you're a slithering patient snake, you can find them....I used to when I lived here...

I'm from South Florida, whenever I go anywhere outside of home, I view it as cool and dry... :P :P :P

Definitely go for option A. And if they do it this year, they have a great Thanksgiving dinner at the SL

You'll be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with expats and more mongers during Thanksgiving. The SL puts on a nice meal as well as a few other places. A good day to hang out and watch NFL games as well.
