I have not contacted them yet Hugo. It's for February and I am still trying to decide on an itinerary. Pretty sure I want to go to Panama for a week or so too.

I always get the parking rooms because they are the best deal and most quiet. The net and everything else works the same way as anywhere in the place.

I was told by Cocal staff/reservations that the only internet is in the area by the pool. I will be there July 7 to 10 if anyone wants to meet up.

2 years ago I spent 3-4 days in an upper poolside room. Internet was terribly slow and would drop out. I had a little bit of the song and dance when trying to rsvp but nothing big. Most of the male staff wont smile or make eye contact with you, kinda weird. But the female staff were cool. Everything said about the chicas is true...

I was in a parking lot room and although I didn't bring anything down with me I got to know the guy next to me and his internet seemed fine. I have know idea of how fast it was because he was just scrolling thru on one site when I was there.

I stayed in an upstairs parking lot room two weeks ago. The internet was available but sometime weak. As a consultant with the need to stay connected with my clients I took the excellent advice given in a thread on the Medellin Mansion and spent $25 on a high power wireless antenna before my trip. (Search amazon or other retailer for ALFA AWUS036H ) I always got 1-3 more bars than my internal wireless card. I never had a problem at Cocal using the antenna. I also used it at SL which improved my signal from an outlying room. I now take it whenever I stay in hotels as wifi coverage can always be spotty.

The Internet at Cocal is pretty bad. If it starts raining it usually goes out completely.

Is there anyway to score a cheaper room rate at Cocal? $90 for parking lot rooms seem to be a bit too much for location and Costa Rica.
Also does anyone have any reccomendations for room numbers that are quite and preferay on 2nd floor (parking lot rooms)
Merci muchos
