Hi All,

What is New Years Eve like in Jaco? I was thinking about booking a room at CoCal for the 30th- Jan 2nd (Tuesday-Friday) Will it be a ghost town like the week of christmas or will there be girls there? Also, how far in advance do you think I should book a room?

Thanks!

In the not so distant past, the week between Christmas and New Years (as well as Easter week) was considered dead, but there have been reports to the contrary.

That said, its not a time I would suggest, especially if you are new to Costa Rica - many of the girls take that time off and spend the time with family.

Big parties for Super Bowl game at multiple locations, gambling on games is easy and legal. Weather is dry and comfortable in San Jose, warm at the beaches. Good month to travel.

Much better than between Christmas and New Years - its "high season" but a great time to go - in fact I was down last Feb.
