Found a great little 10 room hotel two weeks ago in Arenal - Hotel Vista del Cerro. Nothing fancy but the cleanest place I've found in 10 trips to CR. $41, neat little pool and hot tub. Really friendly and helpful staff. Free breakfast at soda next door. Next to it is another soda with awesome chicken. Across street is a grocery.
A place to get away from the tourist thing even though it is near the volcano and hot springs. Looks like most tourists stay in La Fortuna which is one town sooner on way to the volcano.
It was a total cold stop and worked out great.

Looks nice, I checked their website. Here's the place I always stay when I go to Arenal, each "room" is actually it's own cabin, there's two queen size beds there, huge bathroom, great restaurant, cheap, was $50 a night last I stayed there. It's actually on a farm on the back side of the volcano, you will see horses and cows walking around (fenced off from the hotel) while you stay there. It's called Hotel Campo Verde

No, but for the right price you can probably teach one of the putas to bleat like crazy when you're pounding her...

Thanks Bro Boynton. Funniest 3 minutes I've spent in awhile. Remember though that syphilis is a disease we got from sheep--Oh, those randy Basque sheepherders--so be wise--condomize.
Here's the site for the OP's venue: http://www.hotelvistadelcerro.com/

First a desire for hotdogs and now an interest in sheep?

I almost flipped it off the first 30 seconds but Jazzbo said it was funny so I watched it, totally hilarious and totally bizarre, the group that produced this is called zoochosis and they have a ton of other bizarre and twisted short clips, so far all weird as weird can be and they don't disappoint, all totally insane...

Those ugly rumors are not true--Bro Netgems and I CAN agree on some things. Quite glad I hipped you to it. Yeah, those zoochosis folks are a bit, er, skewed. Zoochosis is a real thing, though these guys at FMR Records adopted it as a sort of joke: http://www.evi.com/q/what_is_zoochosis Back to you, Chet.

Good question Zinstar! One of the Arenal/Fortuna Hotels I was interested showed on their website a one way rate of $170 from SJO to their property. Too expensive, no?? Any CRT member or service provider have better deals?

I'd say rent a car. There's a lot to see in the area and do you really want to be stuck at your hotel. Sure you can take a cab once you get there, but there aren't cabs on every street corner in La Fortuna, like there are in SJ.

That is about right...pretty much same as I charge.
