I am looking to get some input on how long to book my first trip for?

I'm a beach person so I was thinking of splitting my time between Jaco and San Jose. I am just not sure how long to spend in each city?

Any suggestions for a first trip?

Nobody can answer that question for you. We all have our own preferences, and, of course, YMMV from day to day in any location.

Most guys will say that Playa Jaco is a shitty, polluted beach. Playa Hermosa, 4 miles south, is much nicer.

My advice ............. plan to stay until your money runs out. And buy a CRT membership. You'll recover the membership cost quickly with discounts.

AND ......... READ THIS BOARD A LOT.

You are going to have more options in SJ for sure, especially daytime action.
But like you, I prefer the beach.
A couple days in SJ is always plenty for me, more than that i get restless.
Now if you got a good chica to kill time with, that is different.

Jaco is not a city by any means, small town at the most.
I actually like Jaco. Plus I prefer to drink my beers looking at the beach if possible.
That said, not alot going on in Jaco either.
Day time action is harder to come by, but is there.
At night its the Cocal, and late night the loft and monkey bar.
If ur there on wednesday night check out backyard bar in Hermosa Beach after 10pm.
Any cabbie can take you.

If you're into it, there is plenty of day trips to do from both SJ and Jaco.
Your hotel can probably set'em up for ya in either place.
Walk down the strip in Jaco and you will find operators of ziplines, fourwheelers, fishing and anything else there you might want to do.

I always like to first and last night in SJ.
As Rac said, its pretty much up to you and what you like.
I don't think you can go wrong staying in either place, you will have a good time.
enjoy yourself amigo.

You have asked a very open ended question here.
1. What is the purpose of your trip, girls only ( can you handle multiple per day and for how many days), sightseeing, adventure sports, rest and relaxation or any combination of those?
2. Do you want to stay in a limited number of places or do you want to stay in different areas of the country?
3. What is your budget for the trip?
4.Are you coming alone or with friends?

Provide some of this type of info and you should get many responses.
