Looking on opinions of the Cocal!! I am planning to stay for 5 days! This would be my first solo trip to CR! I think that Jaco maybe a better fit for me I am pretty laid back and don't care for the hustle and bustle of bigger city's! Any advice about the girls at the Cocal or tips in General would be greatly appreciated

Since you said this is your first solo trip to CR I assume you are not a total newbie to CR.If you were a total newbie I would consider going to SJ first, because it's cheaper, easier to get to and there are many more venues. But since I assume you aren't it's probably time to try the Cocal.

I found more beautiful available women at the Cocal than I have have ever seen in one location before. It's a must do place. The problem is it can be expensive to get to, especially if you are solo, and the rooms at the the Cocal are expensive. There are cheaper places near by, but the Cocal is the place to be in Jaco. The girls try to be expensive but from my experience most come down to HDR-SL prices.
The patrons at the the Cocal, seem to be older and more affluent so many don't care about prices.
But since it's a must do place although it can become an expensive habit, I would say go to the Cocal and enjoy.

I hope you have a better stay at the Cocal than I had. I had a pool side room.
Ants everywhere, Terrible sewage smell in the room, air conditioner leaking water all over the floor.
Workers at 6am making a lot of noise in the pool area. Loved the vibe there, but no way
would I ever stay there again.

Did they finish the construction and fix the sewage problem?.

If you have two or three guys going, don't forget the Vista del Mar condos. They are on the same property and are a LOT nicer. Huge kitchen, living room, balcony and bedrooms bigger than the rooms at the Cocal. Split between three guys it works out to about the same price. Staying there, you also have the private pool and exercise room you can use as well.

On the flip side, of all the times I've been to Cocal (hundreds and 12 in the last two weeks) I've never smelt sewage so that must have been a random problem. Ants are all over Costa Rica even in some of the finer downtown San Jose establishments. Also haven't seen any remodeling or construction going on at Cocal in the last few weeks so must have been a problem somewhere they had to fix. This time of year, it is usually roof work as the first rains point out all the new leaks.

All in all I've heard very few complaints on the Cocal and most of those used to be about the staff but even that hasn't been brought up in a while.
