Bang Bang, I've heard that you'll be conducting your world famous sight seeing tour this memorial weekend. Please count me in.

I have not gotten around to posting this yet so will now:

I will no longer be doing any walks for a couple of reasons.

1: I am having a lot of problems with my old arthritic knees making it not only difficult to walk much, but also not good for the old knees.

2: It seems to be becoming more and more a problem with guys coming here (mostly newbies) and contacting me wanting me to show them around, then they get here and (I assume) they go crazy (Kidd in a candy store syndrome). What ever their reason, they don't show up!!!! This has happened 4 out of the last 5 times I have agreed to meet someone! I live 30 minutes from the gulch, I take time out of my day to meet guys, and I do it all (ONLY) because I enjoy meeting people and showing them around. Then they do not even have the decency to call (3 had my #) nor even send me a PM with an excuse (one out of 4 did).

Hate to hear that BangBang...but do understand as we talked about this last week. No idea what it is but seems a lot of folks have forgotten common decency for other folks. Guess it is the world we live in now :( :( :(

Heal the knees, bud. Wheelchairs aren't feasible in SJO.

Just a suggestion, but if you want the MP tour with BangBang 57 and he's having knee problems, then you might want to hire some transportation.

It would be well worth it to have a driver pick BangBang57 up at his house and drop him back off after you are thru partying. Buy him a few drinks and maybe a chica of his choosing and I bet you and other friends who go along will say it's well worth it when you are done. You will also have a new friend in CR who will provide you with a wealth of information about CR and the chicas.

Great idea, Lenny. It seems like a good way to pay back in a small way someone who has provided a lot of good information and help to newbies over the years.

Bang is a friend of mine, and this came up in a PM - I urged him to post this, ESPECIALLY reason #2 - there is zero excuse for this type of rudeness, especially since he is not charging for this service, and an afternoon w/ BB will turn you from a clueless newbi into someone with a far better understanding of the Gulch - plus he takes (or I guess took; past tense) people to places far off the beaten track.

Guys sometimes get down on my writing style especially when I come down on someone especially clueless - but while it kills me to see how rude as a society we have become <dumb, too> I guess I have to agree w/ PVT.

Bang, its truly their loss - I can say it with conviction, b/c you really have shown me a lot more of SJ than I could have gathered on my own.

I haven't posted In awhile...I met Bang Bang a little over a year ago at the SL....he's is a stand up guy....we shared some stories about CR and some old stories about the US....one of the highlights of that trip was chatting with him about life in general....good to see him posting.... Take good care of the knees my friend and Godspeed with the CR adventures....I may not see you again as I have been going back to Mexico...applying for residency....looking at buying something in Puerto Morelos....been mongering in Acuna and met a real beauty...shes 2 hrs from my house and its convenient....Take care of yourself as we on CRT value your knowledge and wisdom....

i was thinking it might be more fitting to fashion a throne out of one of the broken SL barstools and attach a couple of long poles so the newbies can carry him around chepe on their shoulders.
seriously anyone who would arrange to meet a guy offering to help you for NO CHARGE and show you the area and then stand him up, should also have to line up and kiss his white ass.
thats inexcusable and i don't blame him one bit for not wanting to offer to help guys out.
how phucking hard is it to make a damn phone call?
then again if i had a dime for every time the masseuse was asked to stay late or arrive early and the guys don't show its not all that surprising.
don't tread on BB fuckers.

I am very surprised to hear about bang bangs knees as he wrote a few weeks back that he walked 7 miles everyday, worked out everyday also and was in excellent health for his age.

Also what about all the orphans he was helping with the donations he was collecting for the walking tours. Who will help them now?

Arthritis is typical in the joints of the ancient. It flares up on the most healthy of them, and BB is no exception. He knows how to take care of himself (though I suspect it's only a ploy to make the chicas come to him  ... "oh my knee! Come to my house and suck my c*ck!).

Also, as innocent as your 'donations' joke is, it should be clearly understood that no one provides MP tours for money or donations (no matter the medium of donation). Such activity enters the murky grey-area of Costa Rican law, and I don't know anyone who wishes to get caught up in CR pimping laws.

I have had arthritis in both knees and hips for years but since moving here it has been much better than it was when I lived in the states (climate here is much better for this problem). I chose to just ignore the pain and walk. In the last month or so the pain in my right knee has gotten much worse, to the point I can now only walk a couple of blocks without having to stop for a while. It is my problem and I just have to live with it. Knee replacement surgery will be a last resort! I am still walking as much as the pain will permit, but much slower and with a cane. I do still workout daily; just have had to eliminate some of the exercises that put to much strain on the old knee. And for my age I do consider myself to be in good health.

As for the orphanage, I quit accepting donations back 3+ years ago when I moved from next door to the orphanage in San Pedro. This was the same time I quit doing the regular tours with large groups.

I will admit that the principle reason for no longer meeting guys and taking them around is the problem with guys not showing up!! It gets old riding a bus into town, walking from the bus stop up the hill to the SL, waiting around sometimes for an hour for guys who do not have the decency to show up nor let me know they can not make it, and can not even be bothered to send a PM after the fact!!!

And, Yes Zman, I do realize your post is total sarcasm but that is your problem, not mine!!!

Hope your knees get better. Did you ever try the supplements for arthritis. They work for some people. And it is good to be as active as you can manage not just lay around.
