I haven't been to CR in a few years but I plan to make trip back to SJ. I read a few post that made the HDR sound like it had went downhill. I first went there in 2008 and it was awesome...every trip after that the quality of chicas went down just a lil . How is it looking these days?

Some times very good, other times not so much - it truly depends on the day.

If you have not, you need to expend beyond the HDR - there are so many better places to go:

Scores
Zona II
Relay
360

Just to name a few - search these out if you don't know their locations

HDR is hit or miss. It has changed over the years. They do have a good collection of House Pigs. 2 times there I just walked thru and kept on walking. Couldn't handle the girls begging for a drink. Didn't even have a beer. On another occasion there were a few good ones hidden in the corners. Just stop in, have a brew, and get ready to walk over to SL if nothing suites you. One good thing about SL is that they have a happy crowd and although many pros, there is a more relaxed atmosphere.

every time I go, every visit to HDR is a different mix of talent (or talentless). Many times I'd walk in and see a hottie, but skip it due to some reason or other ... expecting her to be there the next night. It rarely happens.

For me, the best nights seems to be Tue & Wed. But things change quickly in the Gulch.

Scuba, I've never heard of the new venue "Relay", but it sounds like a great concept MP. I picture it sort of like a tag team place where you do a girl, then hand her off to your wingman like passing the baton. Last team finished has to buy the other another session. Where is it located?

True the Dell Rey is hit and miss whoever said check out other venues is correct but don't rely on SL as many times its a sausage fest with very few girls.

You have not been to RELAY - its a great place, only open to a select cliental - you know, good looking, with great personalities.....

Yeah, I've found this to be the case, Mike - but the Sportsmans is waaaaay better than it was 5 years ago, so its on list - especially for someone who has not visited in a while - the only think I can say with a fair degree of certantity is Costa Rica is likely better than where the OP lives for pretty ladies.

But to the OP - so many good places you should never make the HDR and KL your only options - its a real newbi mistake that some, frankly, never outgrow

IMHO after living here 6 years...HDR is looking a LOT better than '12/end, '13/begin....

For the last 9 months or so it has gotten a lot better. How do I quantify that? By always looking for a few important (to me) things:

- How many new chicas are there? I am not into the hardened pro's who have been working the 10 hr shift steady for the last 5-10 years.

- I like to meet chicas from out-of-town. There are a lot of times during the year when money becomes so important that the chicas are willing to ride the bus for anywhere in the country. Sometimes those Guanacaste chicas, mountain chicas, caribbean-side chicas etc etc are super hot with great attitudes, As a bonus, if you meet them after dark, sometimes they are a lot more willing to add the TLN to the menu with no extra charge....

- I like checking out how many "daytime" chicas of quality are there (time limit chicas)

- I absolutely need "quality" chicas over quantity, I like it when the HDR is packed with a 100 chicas or more BUT I am filtering all of the 9's and 10's looking for see how they operate, what kind of attitudes they are displaying in the bar vs. what I can expect back in the room once I get em on my workbench

So, since Halloween or so the HDR has been mostly packed with a lot of hot 9's and 10's. There is also a fresh batch of Colombian's fresh off the plane which always adds to the excitement.

Keep checking out the other places on the lists here but IMHO the HDR is still a great place to pull a hot 10 (after 11pm) (my rule)!

My favorite are the Colombians in the HDR...I know a lot of people have commented that they have bad attitudes and are way too business minded but I have never had a problem with one.....in fact 2 of my best sessions were with Colombians. Some don't like the surgical enhancements but I don't mind as long as its not too over the top.
So I booked my trip for 26 June -2 July and I cant wait. I do plan on checking out the SL. I tried an MP my last trip in 2010 and I wasn't impressed. Maybe things have changed since its been awhile. The Presidente was the hotel of choice for me back then but I know they no longer support my mission. Hopefully I will make the right choice in booking the penthouse at La Amistad.

While many would agree with you about how beautiful Comombianas are - and they truly are -- I think they are among the most beautiful girls on earth - but what you posted is most certainly NOT the rap against them:

They can be poor fucks - but they are beautiful
They can be clock watchers - but they are beautiful
They can have a bad attitude - but they are beautiful
Once in the room, they can do all possible to make the secession as short as possible - but they are beautiful
Many "rules" you can't touch that, you can't suck this - but they are beautiful
They often will not budge on price - but they are beautiful

<In fairness, on any given day, you could say the same thing about any beautiful girl, and while I'm guilty of generalization, and all Colombianas do not fall into the category's above, many do.

What you will find is there are far fewer Colombianas than a few years ago - due to immigration issues - although that might be changing, as Costa Rica and Colombia signed an agreement that <as reported> would make it possible for more Colombian's to visit - since I personally don't care, that's the extent of my knowledge.

I do have a question, BM - I get the impression you have made few visits to CR, and are somewhat of a newbi - which is fine - I'll suggest you get out of the HDR orbit - if you did not like the MP you visited, do youself a favor and check out Scores, Zona II (the old Zona Blue) Relax - and about 20 others - get away form the "I'm doing you a favor by phucking you for $100 <payable up front, of course>" girls and discover what else is out there.

Your problem is you don't know what you don't know - so b/c you seem like a good guy, I'm going to recommend you contact - on this forum - via PM - BangBang57 and ask if he will do a walk with you - buy him lunch, buy him a drink, and you will learn more than you thought possible in a short period of time. Just show up and if you can't, call him.

One final point - if you enjoy Colombianas, why not go to the source - they are reported much better, and sweeter in their own country - in fact many guys have and all have reported beautiful women <no surprise> and really nice sharper girls vs CR.

I still stay at the Rey when I visit, I know a lot of guys prefer SL and other nicer places but I'm one of the nuts who likes being in the belly of the beast and having the largest selection available, plus I'm not big on running around at night in this town so I like to nail one from the evening or night crowd or be able to hit the Key Largo next door and just shoot up to my room in an elevator.

I don't limit myself to the Rey girls, during the day I'll check out any and all MP's, even hitting SL and heading over to the bargain places off of Paseo Colon (highly recommend if you like fresh unjaded young ones and cheap 3 somes...) sometimes I'll check out 4 or 5 different places before deciding, often heading back to one of my earlier places for one hottie I remembered, that's 1/2 the fun in my book, the hunt...I recommend to everyone, especially newbies...

In the late afternoon and evening there's almost ALWAYS something to find at the Del Rey, I've seldom been disappointed, you just have to be careful of the pro's, the sharks, the cons, they tend to congregate at the Rey more than other places but if your interview techniques are honed well, you'll pick contenders, not pretenders...Some of the writers here have been burned by the pros at the Rey so they dis the place and stay away, they try to tell others to do the same but I say ignore them and their caterwauling , there's sweet hotties wherever you go in this town, you just gotta know how to find em...

Look, I'm happy you have found a place that meets your needs, but the reason many of us <or speaking for a constituency of one, me) prefer other places has zero to do with the reasons you gave.

How 'bout the fact that the rooms were last redecorated when Jimmy Carter was president? Just for starters.

We all have different likes and dislikes; and yes, I have stayed at the HDR - once - and been there many times. I don't hate the place - I just think other locations suit me better, and while from your post I don't consider you uninformed or a newbi, some would say that staying there marks you as such.

Since I speak a little Spanish, I've had more than one chica tell me point blank that staying there marks you as a newbi, and someone who is ripe for the picking. I don't fully buy this - no more so than that trite "belly of the beat" comment - I love horses, but I don't wanna sleep on a manure pile, if you take my point I'm phucking w/ you a little Net

(Hell, one of the places I stay marks me as a cheap Phuck - the Morazon - and the folks who hate that place, and fat dopey "Rickey Ricardo" the dopey bellhop are almost as legion as those disliking the HDR But in many ways it meets my needs, as I'm sure the HDR meets yours - however - if you want that atmosphere, the Sportsmans is a better place IMO )

Colombians may be the best sex workers in the world. In fact, its an export item for the country. Colombians travel all over the world. They go all over Latin America, Europe, the Caribbean, and even Asia. To get the absolute best, I prefer to go to the source. Many of the putas that we meet in Colombia are the cream and they are sweet and charming. The Colombia men will not stand for "hardened" bad attitudes. This is why the older, hardened ones leave. They cant compete with the younger hotter ones.

My friend you are not the first to make this comment regarding the total lack of any updates and/or improvements to the REY, and please don't get me wrong-I AM IN NO WAY SUPPORTING NOR RECOMENDING THE REY- BUT!!!!!! The Hotel del REY opened for the first time after the building underwent a total remodel to convert it into a hotel and opened as Hotel del REY in October 1993, 12 years AFTER Jimmy Carter left office!!! Not sure what they did wrong but 4 months after opening (the first time I entered the place) it looked old and wore out to me!!!

But you are right in one aspect!! They have done nothing to (Have not spent a penny) update nor improve the place since they opened it other than making changes in the Casino area and moving the kitchen out to put in the poker room. Oh and they put in the small bar next to the elevator!!

You are correct in that there are a LOT fewer Colombianas today mainly due to immigration and visa changes, but also due to there being a lot fewer tourist and thus less business for them. There are now a lot more Colombians (and with better attitudes) in the MPs than ever before. I have said this before but the first time a Colombiana steps into the REY with her bolt-ons, her padded butt, and her expensive (comparatively) and sexi Colombian cloths, and after the cost of getting here and money for her family to live on in Colombia till she makes some money to send home, she has borrowed (from loan sharks mostly) on average over $5000 that she has to pay back at very high interest rates. Not defending them, but guess why they are hardnosed and total business most of the time????? The first 5 years living here, I lived next to the apartment building where 12-15 (sometimes more) lived and I knew many of them and heard all of the above from them. One had even been a friend in Bogota and helped me find the place where I lived.

Oh, and one other point concerning your comment about going to the source: I have always found it humorous the way so many guys rave about the "BEAUTIFUL" Colombianas in the Rey, when in fact the vast majority were/are chicas who are considered "over the hill" and not that good looking in Colombia. They came here mainly because they could no longer make a living in Colombia (couldn't compete with the 18-20 year old hotties)!! I totally agree with your statement "If you want to see 'BEAUTIFUL' Colombianas, go to the source"!!!! Guys would also be shocked to learn the "true" ages of most of the REY Colombianas!! Hell, my ex wife (from Cali) at 58 was better looking and looked younger than many of the REY Colombianas!!!

I just saw where Estabanh just posted about what I said about the olders ones can not get work in Colombia. It is so true!! Way too many poor, hungry, and beautiful chica in Colombia desperate for "work", so one much over 20 or a little less attractive cannot compete!!

I am not disagreeing with your comments about guys should get out and explore other areas and venues. I totally agree 100%!!! What I do want to comment on is your use (several times before) of the phrase "the bargain places off Paseo Colon" and "fresh unjaded young ones and cheap 3somes"! The only part of that I can agree with is "cheap 3somes" but that is true in ANY MP anywhere in Chepe or surrounding area! The going rate in almost all "low rent" MPs in Chepe is c30000 for an hour for a 3some!

As for "bargain" places, the prices for an hour at the MPs in the Paseo Colon area are:
Oasia- c18000
360- c19000
Golden-c18000
KamaSutra-c20000
Veronicas- c18000 or c20000 (depends on who you talk to and whether she thinks she can "rip off a gringo"!!)
VIP- c20000
Casa de Flores-c20000
Gentlemens club- c25000 and up for gringos!!

If you are comparing them to the 2 gringo owned MPs in the gulch, yes, they would be a bargain price, but comparing them to most of the other low rent MPs, they are among the more expensive. There are many that are c16000 in central SJ. Cheap compared to the UPSCALE MPs (around $100)-yes, Cheap compared to the Gringo owned places,- yes, cheap compared to most MPs in Chepe ,- NO, little or no difference, or often more expensive.

As for the "fresh un-jaded young ones" Where exactly are they??? . I know probably 90% of the chicas working in all of the above named places in PC and I can not think of more than maybe 2 that have been in the business less than 2-3 years; very few are under 25 (hell I can not think of but one at the moment (she is 24 and has been in the business since the week she turned 18) and the most popular chica working at the moment in PC is in her 40s As for Jaded, many are among (IMHO) the most jaded MP chicas in the entire city. But they are still over all, very good "providers"!!!! and less jaded than most REY and SL chicas!!
