Hi guys. I need two bits of info.

Firstly - Is the oceanfront room worth the extra cost at Hotel Cocal ? Or are the poolside/courtyard rooms just as good ?

Secondly - Are there any hotels near to the Cocal within walking distance that are just as nice ? And if so, are the chicas willing to walk there too ?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

I have only been to Jaco once and I loved the Cocal, but I won't mention where I stayed because you wouldn't want to stay there. On the 2nd trip (in 2 months) I'm taking a courtyard room which is actually a parking lot room, because I'm tight and they seemed to be all right. But it just depends on how much you want to spend and I might upgrade myself when I am there if I can.

As for a place outside that Cocal chicas would walk to, all I can think of is the Copa Cabana which is also on the beach. I am not an expert on this but it seemed to be walkable if it's the place I am thinking about. Remember I was only there once. It's also a swingers hotel but you don't have to be a swinger to stay there and it is certainly chica friendly. But you better look into it because I might not be exactly right.

The rooms at Cocal are almost all the same...very little difference in size/quality among the different rooms available. Seems the only difference is the view (parking lot, pool or ocean).

There are several decent hotels close to the Cocal but at night, I wouldn't advise trying to get a girl to walk to one of them. You FOR SURE DON'T want to walk down the beach at night for any reason.

For a chica friendly hotel in walking distance, I'd recommend Cancions del Mar second on the list then the Copacobana followed by the Poseidon. There are also several condos in the area where MOST security guards will allow girls but always best to ask in advance. Other chica friendly places that aren't really in walking distance from Cocal would be Morgan's Cove, the Best Western, Clarita's or Hotel 9.

In my opinion, the best value at the Cocal is the parking lot rooms. Less money, quieter, same size and you get to watch the parade while sipping your favorite cocktail while relaxing outside of your room with you own private table and chairs. Just my opinion.

I have been putting a lot of my guys in the Monaco Jaco luxury Condominiums. http://www.jacomonaco.com/ Huge 3 bedrooms, all the amenities that condos offer and chica friendly. Stones throw to the Monkey Bar, KFC and Mega Super. $51 per person based on 3 pk ($153) per night as a O.L.D. customer. The only drawbacks are $10 chica fee and a $700 refundable deposit but boy is it nice.

I was in Jaco last week. I stayed at hotel Mangomar. Very close to Cocol, about 60 feet past the entrance to cocal's parking lot. Good size rooms with refrigerator and flat screen, wifi is spotty. 2nd floor rooms have balconies. Small pool, chica friendly, not fancy, but clean. Has a locked gate between the courtyard and beach, but you get a key with your room. $80 per night.
