The Pharmacia del Parque that BB57 describes is my "go-to" pharmacy - - - and has been for a number of years.

Good prices and good service there. It's a convenient, safe walk from anywhere in the gulch.

They usually have a short, helpful guy working the counter who was born in New York and brought to CR at a young age. He speaks perfect English if you need that. He's pleasant, too, even though he is from New York.

And are they that much better for you than my $1.90 generic Viagras to justify the $10 :?: :?: :?:

I meant real viagra that you can get in Costa Rica that you don't need a quack doctor to charge $100 per visit like in the USA to get them, just walk into any Farmacia. I don't know where to get the generic ones, are they in the farmacia's and if so, do you remember the brand names?

Man I remember several years ago Lee had a huge head. Some kind of disorder of some kind. I saw him last year, looks like his condition is getting better, but man he had the biggest head I ever saw on a person. Nice guy though to do business with but not cheap.

As I stated in my last post on this thread YOU ARE NOT GETTING ED DRUGS WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION, you just are not aware that the in-house Dr. is writing the script. CR law was changed about 6 years ago and is very clear on ED drugs being a prescription item. There may be a few shifty places selling them without a script but not legally. As I said the Bomba (the largest volumn farmacias here will not sell them to you without a script. Neither will Fishel, the largest pharmacy chain in the country.

A lot of guys like the farmacia you mentioned and the one in front of the Calderon hospital up the hill from the Amistad for their convenience, but both charge an added fee (sometimes rather large) for writing a script, and their prices are much higher than the Farmacia del Parque. A Zpac (3- 250mg tablets) at the one at the hospital costs more than I paid for the same thing (Azitromicna) but 500mg and 6 tablets at del parque (to keep a lung infection from becoming pneumonia). I was quoted $45 for the slow release (250) tests at the farmacia at the hospital and I pay $16 at the Parque. At the Parque they only charge c200 (less than 25 cents) for giving you the shot!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe if coming here once a year, paying those kind of differences are no big deal, but if you live here it is a BIG DEAL!!!

As for where to get the generic ED drugs and the brand names, read my last post here. Virtually any farmacia will have them, both the 2 locally made brands and the ones that come from India and some will even have some from China (not sure I would want to trust those!! jeje). I have been using the Raven brand (V for several years and C since the cataract problem) and have never had a problem with the effectiveness of them. At the Famarcia del parque the prices are now up (everything here is up except pu*sy jeje) to about $2.10 (V) and $2.30 (C) per pill with the 10% discount you will get if you spend c10000 or more. Buying 9 V or C pills will get you the discount.

I can verify what BB57 says about the F. del Parque prices and effectiveness of the locally-made RAVEN brand of ED meds.

I even bring them back to the States with no problems.

I''ve got to go there if only to experience the "nice guy from New York" phenomenon. :D

Funny thing is, I am in there at least once a week and until Rac mentioned him I was not aware of him even speaking English. I guess because I always speak Spanish when talking to locals, he had never spoken to me in English even when I have been there translating for Gringos who do not speak Spanish.

Go in there struggling with some stupid SPANGLISH questions like I did, and he'll make you feel really comfortable with his perfect English. The women behind the counter know enough to go get him when they hear ME speak.

In my next life, I want to be BB57.

No you really don't!!! I am old, fat, always broke or nearly so, and can't sleep most nights!! But I am really enjoying my life, seldom have anything I have to do, always have time to do what I want to do, always have more chicas than I can keep up with, still have my health, have great friends, can and am living my life the way I want to live it, and have everything I really have to have in life!! Come to think about it, it is not what many would consider a perfect life, but it is damn close in my book!!!!!!!!!!! But you can not be BB57 at least not for the next 30 years because I plan on living (and "banging" ) for at least that much longer!!!!  Got to make it past the dreaded "cien"!! :P  My goal is to do 100 chicas during the year I turn 100 :!:

I agree, for better or worse, BB57 is my retirement role model.

I am up to about as heavy as I have ever been.  The older I get the harder it seems to be to lose and the harder it is to keep it off. My biggest problem is I like to cook crazy things (mostly fatting) and I like to eat!!!

if I did not workout almost everyday and walk 7-10 miles a day, I probably would not be able to get thru the door

Yeah, that place has very reasonable prices. I've been in there many times. I used to go to the pharmacia down the street from there, across from the bus stops, on the corner. The pharmacist there used to be 'Dr. No' (anyone remember her?). She was very attractive and spoke perfect English. She left about two years ago. The prices there are now higher, so I always go to the one described above, with Lee the Asian (unless I get the meds from Russ at the Mona Lisa).
