I'm certainly not an expert in this topic but I've been at it for a long time. First I like to locate a target and ask her if she would like to have a drink at the bar with me. (the bar tends to move her away from her friends and lessen cell phone use) After a while if I want compania I ask her that ever popular Spanish word "cuanto". When she replies (and she will) Cien dollars you cover your eyes with both arms and she will almost aways laugh which sets the mood. She usually responds "how much do you pay?" At this point I like to give her a choice by setting my parameters. 25,000 col. to come home with me. 30,000 for mucho besos and BBBJ. Possibly a propina if I have a good time. ( here you decide what choices you want to give her based on how much you are wiling to pay.) Using this method a chica feels like she is in control.

I am curious ... you have far more experience than I, but is it beneficial to let her feel in control? Has this ever backfired on you? I'm not a control freak, but I am interested in thoughts on the whole 'in-control idea.

Your "negotiating skill" allows the chica to control her decision about whether she wants to accept the amount you are offering. Nothing more........nothing less.

Seems to me that's the way it works no matter how you present the offer. Am I missing something? Or is the secret to your success offering to buy them a drink?

Actually, as I see it, he explained it was getting her away from her friends and phone. She can tell others later she got full price or had less to do or...Having a drink together off to the side sure doesn't hurt.

Nice post VegasBob, but I'm with BashfulDwarf on this one. I don't see how this makes the chica feel in control and why would you want that anyways? By getting her away from her friends and cell phone, YOU are getting control of the situation. By rejecting her asking price and making a counter offer, YOU are taking control of the negotiation. I disagree with giving a laundry list of prices because how do you know she won't do all that for one price? If you even mention a tip she will expect it.

The whole point of the negotiation is to see if the chica is flexible, which is a sign that things will go well. You're also showing that youre not a cream puff that will just pay whatever she wants. If she won't budge off her asking price you should probably move on because chances are you're gonna have a bad time.

The way I read it is that by introducing the possibility of a tip for good service, you give her the control to make more money, not control the session.

Everyone has their own technique they are comfortable with. I never ask how much? sometimes they will ask 80, but it is usually 100, we already know that. When the topic pops up, I say, you look nice, I can give you 60. She will ask for more, when you offer 60, chances are better she goes to 80 instead of 100. In my experience, if you offer 60 up front and go to 80. you will enjoy a better experience than if she asks 100 and you bring her down to 80 (usually).

Another trick I have tried twice (with a 50% success rate) Is to keep $60 in my front pocket, out of my wallet, plus enough to cover my bar tab. That usually works out to $70, I don't drink a lot when I'm hunting. When she asks for more than $60, pull out the bills and count them in front of her. Then frown and tell her thats all I've got. She will probably scan the bar and access her prospects, before she says yay or nay. Only problem is once you try this you are locked in to your offer, She probably suspects you are lying, but if she knows that you know that she knows you were lying, It won't go well. Sooooo if you want her enough to give 80, or more, give it to her and have fun.

When people 'feel' in control, they tend to 'act' like they are in control ... and that is not usually a good thing if you are on the receiving end. Couple that with the situation where both parties 'feel' they are in control.

If you mean that she just feels like she's being treated fairly, then I get it.
