Isn't this the hotel that only a short time ago was going to compete with the Del Rey?
I guess that didn't happen.
A guest should never have to worry about valuables in a locked safe sorry it happened.t I would look to upper level management as the insider.

His posts are simply that of a pragmatist who sees the forest for the trees, having, evidently, pulled his head out of the sand a long time back and also took off the rose colored glasses at the same time.

And then there are those who think that if they type "I'm in pairodice" over and over again, it'll actually be what they envision. Stuck, they are compelled to always see the invisible proverbial "silver lining" and are constantly on the "hope". You are damn right--MY CUP IS ALWAYS HALF FULL; NEVER HALF EMPTY!!

I always look on the bright side but always thru my "rose colored glasses" jeje. I visited here for years and have now lived here for more than a few. I know this country and the people much better than most (you included obviously). I live here by choice, could leave anytime I choose.

I do not understand why the two of you (since you hate and despise this country and the people so much) do not get the hell out of the country, get off of CRT, and never come back to either. Very few pay much if any attention to anything either of you write. In fact I would bet money you are probably the two most "blocked from reading" people on the board. I am sure the Ticos would not miss you and I doubt many on here would either except for the laughs!!! Do not remember ever reading anything of value nor relevance from you but do remember a whole lot of conflict, anger, people who posted valuable info leaving because of you, and other problems because of your "hate" posts!!

Anybody that truly knows me (you don't!), knows I am, and always have been, having a ball living here. I would not live anywhere else (except maybe return to Colombia). And, by the way, contrary to popular opinion, I do not live here because of the chicas, there are hot chicas in a lot of countries!!! I live here for the climate (much better for my arthritis than anywhere in the states), the beauty of the country, the diversity of the country, the people, and because I love it here. I have no desire to live anywhere else. If, in your warped-hate filled- bitter opinion, that is having my head stuck in the sand so be it!!! Thank God few feel the way you do!!!!

Now you can add one more to the long list of people who do not read your hatred trash; not even for laughs!!!!
So go find someone else to throw your hatred at!!!

Now back to the subject of this thread--Getting ripped off at the MonaLisa!!!

Actually BB57, although I like your post, I also like to read both of the mentioned posters. Guess it depends on your wave form. Intelligent reading.

Always remember....the Delrey is not that great - but you don't have to be as long as your competition is even worse.

Let me pose an example - through hard work, caring, hands on management, Bill at the Sportsmans has created a hellofa business. So its possible, but not if you have "issues" - like incompetent people, poor employees, bad reservation systems, and a host of other problems the Mona Lisa has been plagued with over its existence.

Now.....regarding Greengo

"His posts are simply that of a pragmatist who sees the forest for the trees, having, evidently, pulled his head out of the sand a long time back and also took off the rose colored glasses at the same time."

I'll believe he exists, and is not a sock puppet the day a few CRTers actually meet the guy; plus ne NEVER engages with you - believe what you wish, but I'd feel a little foolish validating a sock puppet, a figment of someone's imagination - he has been a "member" of the board for YEARS, and no one ever met him - sorry, I call Bull shit - and sock puppet.

Let Bang Bang 57 meet him, and I'll gladly appologise for my suspicions - which no matter what you believe, there are good reasons to have them

Agree whole-heartedly with Bro Scuba1. Those quote marks are well-advised--what kinda guy is on a Board that gives him unlimited opportunity to blow his fetid breath for so long but won't support that org. with the little bit of cash to fly the flag? Sheesh.

Yep. An amigo had a birthday fiesta at his place for his novia, at some point one of her own beloved relatives saw fit to steal her phone and cash from her purse. Sure they had a good laugh and felt righteous since the "rich novio" would replace the stolen goods, but then again do they really need to justify theft? Nope.

Thieves come in all forms of life. The big problem here is that hotel did nothing about it and put the blame back on the op. A good hotel would at least try and help the customer figure out who stole it or least make u think they are trying to.this hotel could care less just my 2 cents

I agree Bill has created a nice experience for guests and girls......I also think that almost all Bill's guests visit the del rey/key largo at some point in there stay.
I get it you hate the del rey but until something comes along that really competes with it that's where the majority of girls will work.

Gentlemen,

True story happened last night at Sportsmens Lodge...I will copy and paste the report I received this morning from my Hotel Manager Manfred Hernandez....

Bill,

We had an issue in El Tigre room, the guest in that room demand to talk to you because the SL is not a secure place, he accused us to be responsible for stole around $700 in cash, passport, credits cards, etc. Priscilla called me and I talked to him over the phone from my house, he insisted to talk to you, so I came and we watched cameras together, only Doris (our maid) and one working girl that we identified went to the room, he insisted to call you or call the police.

I did call the police and they came but police wanted him to go to the OIJ and have someone coming to take some fingerprints and compare with our maid and the working girl, he asked me to check his backpack, so I went with Ballardo and we put gloves and we found everything in a blue bag belonging to the guest in another backpack.

The whole story took us around two hours specially since I had to get the best procedure since Mona Lisa hotel is been accused of the same insecurity problem with no solution and this guy wanted to ruined us in CRT.

At the end problem solve, I´ll give you more details tomorrow when I get here.

Good night.

I am certainly and obviously not saying this may of been the case with Scubabum and The Mona Lisa, however as a process including viewing security cameras we ask for permission to check any guests room who has a similar claim as stated on this thread and what happened last night at SL.

Thanks,

Bill

It's good to know that the SL handles security and situations like that so professionally. Props to Manfred for his prompt handling of the situation! It's incredible that the guest did not immediately check his other backpack, or did not check it in the following two hours. What an idiot. Or, if he did it intentionally, did he actually think that he could get away with it...with the police getting involved?
