Spanishdict.com has a decent basic spanish course for free. They also have lots of practice exercises, flash cards, writing exercises, speaking and listening drills, and a large reference library of grammar info.
My biggest problem in learning has been listening and understanding at the normal high speed speech levels here. I have found this site to be helpful with this:
http://www.newsinslowspanish.com/latino/ They read the news at slow speed while you read it. You can adjust the speed as you improve. It isn't free, but they offer a free demo lesson.
The funnest way learn is to get your butt down here and practice with the girls. Many of them want to learn english and are happy to talk with you as you both practice. Then when you are tired of spanish practice, you have sex.
