Hey guys, we are only in Costa for 5 days, have to say I'm getting very frustrated at all the phone calls and back and forth to line up a day's fishing. Sorry to bitch but this should be easy, we have FOUR guys with US DOLLARS that want to fish - what else needs to happen. Typically getting the guys is usually the hard part!

***

If we don't have something firm as a group by say Monday 4PM EST, Kev and I are going to book a second day fishing out of Los Suenos if I don't hear back from you guys.

I charter a 42' premium boat with AC and US Captain for $1200 per day, the rack rate same boat is $1780.00 - I don't think we will find better and as discussed not into some smelly panga and not being comfortable. $1200/4 = $300 per person and that's all in, food, drinks, bait, top of the line new Shimano equipment.

I've chartered them in the past years and have a firm date for the Friday we get in but that trip is booked with other guys, if anyone on the board wants to do a second trip with us, I can set it up.

Again Wingman and I are available to fish Saturday, Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday max budget i'd say is $300 per man per day for us.

I don't know any boats out of Quepos and although it is cheaper, its 2 more hrs of driving and at least out of Los Suenos I maybe paying a lot, but I know what I am getting.

You are correct, it's only an hour each way to Quepos from Jaco.

Problem with fishin for fishin mates, CRT'ers or not, that you don't know from Adam is the chance you and your wing take getting hooked up with two guys that turn out to be jerks.

Makes for a long, long day.

Like you say, at least at Suenos you know what you are getting.

I am good with the $1200. I think we should go saturday and come back sunday. Sunday traffic is bad and it is the last weekend before the K*ds go back to school.

Ok so tentatively it appears we have a total of 4 people going? anyone else interested? We are still flexible on what day but looks like SAT or Sunday is the best day for everyone.

Anyone else interested in fishing let me know!!!

Hey myself and my wing are 100% in but have no interest in fishing the canals if that is what is meant by "inshore" been there done that, also did the croc tour did the snook tour they where all small.

I want to fish for Roosterfish and things like that which I would consider inshore. I don't expect to run 28 miles to the rocks or further for the "corner" which is where most bill fishing and tuna fishing is going to happen but I'd like to do chase rooster fish and someone made a good point we should get them to catch the blue runners the night before as not to burn time on the charter.

I am open to spending $100 to $200 on this adventure.

For $233 per man x 6 I can charter a US based 40' sport fisherman with Captain out of Los Suenos That is the friend price they normally ask for $1800 + tip. so we can get it for $1400 including beer, lunch, ice, frozen bait - that boat specializes in Billfish which doesn't excite me that much but just throwing it out there. If we agreed to keep it to 20 miles each way (inshore) then it goes down to $1200 - still you need 6 guys to make it work. but its a real nice boat, AC brand new best of everything American Capt who wins tourney money running the boat.

Personally I think we should do 4 guys inshore for Roosterfish, I have all the tackle needed down to the rigs in our condo we just need a decent boat for 4 to be comfortable on - not into a wooden skiff or panga for this many guys we need a 25 to 28 footer I would think.

Perfect size for 4 fisherman plus capt and 1st mate, I am in. Mkink you in?

Hey gang glad to hear we are moving fwd. I have fished this boat in prior years and have actually booked them already for that Friday. Without insulting anyone if I'm going to guarantee the charter I'd feel more comfortable if everyone could see fit to pony up a deposit that would be great

The charter is 1200.00 plus tip so if we get six guys this will be very reasonable. The rate covers us all day to twenty miles offshore. My suggestion is we plan Saturday around Fridays results far offshore forty miles which is going to cost a bit more

If the bite in the far offshore is very solid Friday the group can vote at the dock and discuss
But if we really have six guys I'd think another fifty a head gets it done

So please pm me if you are firm and we will work out deposits via paypal or I'll run credit cards to make it work. Deposits are a good idea so no one gets stuck paying more if there is a non show of a guy or two it should not ruin the trip for the rest of the group

Gang just got in from fishing today, while it was a beautiful day the bite was off offshore, we only had 7 bites and 2 sail fish came tight. I felt Capt and Boat where excellent and actually 2 fish by the radio chatter was not bad as many top name boats had nada!

So for Saturday the low tide is 8.50AM, capt feels we can leave at 9AM, make bait and try inshore for the $1200 and not bother with the sails and mahi as the bite is off. We saw tons of sailfish finning and sunning themselves up top but not many takers...

Our number here is 506-2-637-8044

Please give me a call so I know to reconfirm or not for Saturday
