Coming down to the Jaco area in feb, considering staying at playa Hermosa for something different...any recommendations, especially regarding chica friendly hotels. Any other info?

stayed at Surf Inn a few months back and it was nice. Had a pool to myself outside my room and the food was pretty tasty.
the folks there were nice and they had some kind of foam show on Fridays i think. i never saw it but it looked like a good time.
not a lot going on girl wise but Jaco is a quick cab ride away. it was $6-8 each way if i recall correctly.
beach is ok. lot of debris. not sure if that is typical or was the result of a storm or some other event.
oh and it is chica friendly for sure.

you got it. i highly suggest the rooms to the left w the pool as you have it all to yourself at night and the slider opens up right to it. that is if you are into that kind of thing. 8)

Stayed a The Back Yard two years ago( poolside 2nd floor) nice view ,Rooms slightly dated but clean.
Has a restaraunt next door( food fair). Enjoyed going to the surf board rental place two doors down. They have good food and cute girls working there. If the then fav hadn't been with me , I would have enjoyed getting to know one of them better.
Was lucky enough to be there during a surf competition so there were some fine looking surfer girls there. Surf shop was layed back and relaxed. Local guy does horse back mountain ride which was fun.( he works out of jaco)

I go there to surf. It has a great but very strong (powerful) break. Not necessarily good for a novice if the waves are over 4 feet. Backyard has a great Ladies Night on Wednesdays after 10 PM. The food at the bar is really good. Try the fish tacos.

Bro LAd had a Post on it last year. Evidently, a real fun place: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=43639&p=498426&hilit=the+backyard#p498426
But, hey, check it for yourself: http://www.backyardhotel.com/index.php << unassuming name for a swell oceanfront place
Recent report on all things surfing there: http://costaricasurfing.org/playa-hermosa-jaco-town/ << cowabunga!
TA reminds us there's plenty else to do area-wise, and (my words) especially fun with a strong Favorita--call me a fantasist but ther's got to be Ticas or long-term Nicas who'd love to go to the shore/country for a couple of days--see another aspect of their land--I said fantasy, right? http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions- ... caste.html << not the usual puff/paid piece--surprising biz's << LP and Fodor's doubtless got good stuff too.

Hotels in Hermosa Terraza's. Marea Brava, Fuego del sol. Hermosa cabinas. The beach house. And the back yard off the top of my head.
