Bill, don't change a thing! Your SB parties are historically excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed attending last year. Maybe N2T should take the money he's not going to spend on the SB party and buy a CRT membership!

Seriously, people complaining about a $55 ticket (+10% discount for CRT members,) free food, free drinks and excellent entertainment, etc. WTF! Some people just don't get it.

Last year here in Montana there was a super bowl party charging $40 per person..

Well gosh, if that party in Montana is so good I imagine people will be coming from around the world to watch the super bowl there. Oh, wait a minute, you're not even going to this great party, :? you're headin to San Jose for the super bowl where there is a party that people come from around the world to attend. That party is at the Sportsmens Lodge!

Bill must be doing something right, the place is full most of the time. it is pretty well known you must make a reservation months in advance to get a room. Some guys make their Super Bowl Reservations up to a year in advance. The reason there are a limited number of tickets for the big party is it sells out long before game day. SL used to be my number one choice but they have become to successful for an old fart like me who values his peace and quite. If I were Bill I would not even answer these petty complaints but have to give him credit for being willing to try and please everyone.

Wow compare that place to Sportsmen party WTF ???

Steeler Mike, I do not know you but if you are talking about Before or After Eric and Dee owned it Myself and two best friends went to their wedding in Vegas. DEE was the GM before her and her hubby bought it. They have the best wings and menu and NO Fights, Its a place for locals not tourist attraction. Since your a Steelers fan you more into Gulf Gate where they had Oil Can Alley and then closed right around Superbowl time. Who is the guys and girls you knew? Feel free to pm me names since I knew everyone that worked there from 2006-2010. Lets see if what you say is true. I am calling BS.

How is it free when there is a charge, maybe put down the special K and pick up some Ginkgo Biloba instead. Not complaing about the price of the ticket at all, I didn't come all the way to CR for hot dogs or scare seating. If this is the comrade that will be at SL during Superbowl then count me out, buncha bobo's.

Bill,no disrespect, I just thought there was more choices not trying to cause a ruckus but i got short tolerances for bobos. It all depends on who is playing if I even care about watching or taking a day trip somewhere. imo

No disrespect taken my friend. There are other options which is great for everyone on Super Bowl Game Day here in San Jose. We have printed 200 tickets just as we do every year. We have sold all 200 tickets every year. Same price as last year and I hope you guys change your minds and join us and have a great time! Pura Vida......

Last year we did Superbowl in Jaco at that bar on the corner that projects the game onto a brick wall.... I can't remember the name. Anyway long story short, we got there very early to get a good table. They charged us $25 each to get in the door and that included free shots that where not costing the bar anything and our seats. We ordered off the menu and drinks where normal prices. My buddies friend ate a too rare burger there got food poisoning and spent the rest of the trip on the couch sick as a dog. Sucked for him and the rest of the group. We split the bill 8 ways and it was about $65 PP or so from what I recall.

Its a touristy time of the year and of course bars are going to capitalize on that. This year I think we will be back to driving the golf cart party to party at Suenos. Did that 2 years ago and it was funny as shit, we got very very drunk feeling safe inside the walls and gates, lead to too much drinking, rolled the golf cart thankfully no one got hurt those things are heavy someone could have easily broken a leg but we all still talk about that night.

Municipality of San José will not enforce dry law on the election

January 23, 2014

10:24 a.m.

Manuel Sancho

San Jose "is not one of the thirteen cantons" where liquor will not be sold. (Archive CRH)

Although the National Union of Local Governments (UNGL) reported that San Jose was one of the 13 cantons apply the prohibition on the day of the presidential elections, josefina Municipality explained that it will not.

The director of the Municipal Police Marcelo Solano reported that the central region of the capital has its own regulations for the subject, but admits that "it is not entirely clear." This legislation was created just over a year, so they are the first election is in effect.

The regulation control, regulation and marketing of alcoholic beverages in the San José , published in June 2013 and listed on the website of the municipal regulations , states in Article 21 that "establishments engaged in the sale of beverages alcohol shall be closed Thursday and Friday Santos, the day before and the day following the elections called by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, and when the Municipality so valued and available by agreement of the City Council. "

Prohibition does not apply

Solano said that after reviewing the detail and see that the election day prohibition does not apply, "it would be absurd to do a close on Saturday to open on Sunday and Sunday night to do a close Closed Monday dawn." For this reason, the authorities decided that in this electoral process, nor on 2 February and on the day before or after, will be closed to the spirits.

Solano said what procedure and analyze the behavior of consumers and shops in the coming polls. He added that in previous experiences, such as Easter, they have had positive results. He also said he discussed the issue in the Security Commission of Electoral Supreme Court (TSE).

"We believe that the country has sufficient capacity to carry out an electoral process and civic festivities, without stopping the business maturity. Be until after the elections we will consider what are the reforms that we must make the rules, "said the Director of the Municipal Police.

Marcelo Solano justified that there is a technical difficulty in the closure process, they must put stickers on all premises which involves extensive work, up to two days and costly. Last year was valued at 6 million colones. Therefore believe it is not necessary to repeat the day of the election.
