For the SJ to Jaco leg, http://www.puravidatransport.com Steve is a sponsor on the board and well known and liked, CRT discount, I think it would be two bits per to Jaco in a comfortable large SUV. Contact him now, if he's busy, he'll still steer you right. And he'll help you configure the Jaco to MA leg. You didn't say where you were going after MA--back to Jaco or all the way to SJ?

Anyway Steve will tell you Jaco to MA is another story. Taxis are an option, expensive because it's a r/t for the taxista, and the Shuttle is very expensive, I think Shuttle is $35 per for a 1 hr ride. I'd take the regular bus to Quepos (they are pretty nice now & very, very cheap--again it's only an hour) and then a $5-7 cab from Quepos to M.A.

But Jaco to Quepos bus? One problem might be that I have heard is finding out where that particular bus company stops in Jaco--there is no station, and only 4 or 5 a day come into Jaco town (as opposed to stopping on Rt 34 at Jaco entrance) and then continuing to Quepos. Jaco guys can chime in as to where they stop, different bus co's stop different places in Jaco from what I have heard, so ask around when you get there. It's a $5-7 taxi from Quepos bus station to Manuel Antonio 5 one way and 7 the other, forget which, crazy but it is what it is.

But here's a good current link from CR govt Tourism Dept of all the bus schedules in CR. http://www.quepolandia.com/wp-content/t ... ses_es.pdf Please note Sunday schedules are different.

So maybe bite the bullet Jaco-Quepos and take a cab divided by four, 1 guy sitting shot gun, three in the back, it's only an hour. You can stretch and take a pee and have a beer in Parrita, nice town, about half way.

For shuttle, Google Jaco to Quepos shuttle, there's a few. Ask Steve what he thinks.

Assuming you've been to CR before, I'd rent a car, 4 guys would be dirt cheap. 2 hs to jaco.
Reserve it online from the states for a much better rate. I use Budget which I find to be the cheapest, downtown office near Savannah Park on Paseo Colon, and at the airport.

Easy ride to Jaco once you figure out how to get RT 27 (a toll road, about 7? bucks) in SJ. If you pick the car up downtown, it's an easy find, just get to Savannah Park a few blocks away from Budget, and it's right there and stay on that all the way to Rt 34, exit south to Jaco. RT 27 is harder to get to from the airport. But a car opens your options.

Be advised minimal P4P action in Quepos currently (None in M.A. other then dumb luck) since Pescadores got shut down and re-opened now as "Double Hook" by a hen pecked gringo, it's a no-go. Wacky Wanda's bar next door and the casino across the street in the Best Western and whatever is hanging around outside those corners is about it, maybe also at Canatico bar next door to the casino the other way, and a few clip joints to be avoided so I won't even mention them by name. The good news is all of whatever is available are within 100 yards. The bad news is, if you don't have a network in Quepos, it's pretty much a BYO town right now, which may change your mode of transportation plans.

During the remodel, I asked Jerry, the owner of Double Hook, who also owns a very good and recommended fishing charter, Luna Tours, if he was going to let the girls in because Pescadores had it going on pretty good by Quepos standards until the last owner got locked up for something unrelated and it got shuttered. He said his local School Board member tica wife said no.

He did a beautiful & expensive remodel, gutted the place front to back, see Double Hook's FB page, redone in a maritime theme (and only on a leasehold ) with five TV's for all gringo sports. When I was there a few weeks ago there were only 3 swinging dicks on a NFL night. Quepos was not in any need whatsoever of another "normal" gringo bar with gringo sports on tv as the draw.
