If the trannies in Parque Morazan get you on the way, you have to return to GO and start over

That (walking thru Parque Morizon) would only be a problem for the guy going from the DI unless the guy from SL goes 3-4 blocks out of the way to get to HDR.

The most direct route from SL to HDR goes thru Parque ESPAINA, not Parque Morizon. The most direct route from DI would take you thru Parque Morizon.

And you are much more likely to see and/or encounter a trannie in Parque Espaina than in Parque Morizon. In 19 years only once have I ever seen a trannie in Parque Morizon and he was in handcuffs and being lead away by the police.

Actually I have really enjoyed walking thru Espania in the early evening lately. Almost no trannies lately and it seems to have become the meeting place for young lesbians. And they are not at all shy about making out right in front of people walking by; nor even a "dirty old man" who stops to watch!jejeje

Thanks BB, I stand corrected. I would like to avoid both trannies and lesbians on my trek to downtown. What is your latest time in the evening that you will do the walk from SL to downtown? I usually take a taxi after sunset , but now that's about 6 PM, which seems early.

I guess it all depends on what you are calling "down town"! Walking from the SL to the area around the HDR, or walking to Mercado Central, or walking to Monoco in the Dominica area after it opens about 10:30pm. What I would do walking and what I would advise most guys visiting here to do are also two different things. I took a taxi today for the first time in months because I had a chica with me and she was late for her next appointment!! I walk or ride the buses almost all the time, day or night. But then I also am seldom out in "downtown" past 10pm.

I see no problem in walking from the SL to the HDR for most guys up till about 9-10pm--I have walked it many times in the past as late as 1-2am and never had a problem. That said I have a friend who has had a problem in Espania 2 times in the daytime.

Walking to what I consider "downtown" (anywhere west of the HDR) depends on exactly where you are going. In SJ areas can go from relatively safe to dangerous in a matter of a half block and in another half block be back to safe. I have lived here long enough that I know these spots and can walk around them. Most tourists would not know the difference. The area of Downtown north of the central market and west of calle central to the Coca cola bus station I would not walk after dark. This includes the Dominica area which thou it looks bad to many guys is really not that bad because of the heavy police presence now. The area around Molina Rojo -Calles central,2,4,6,8,10 south of Av4 is another area I would not feel comfortable walking after dark.

Almost always I tell guys who do not live here to do as I say, NOT as I do--do not walk anywhere in SJ after about 8pm (maybe 9) just to be safe! And do not walk alone in areas you do not know at just about anytime because you can get into a dangerous area quickly and before you know it and it really does not have to be dark for some of them to be dangerous. For most guys it is best in any larger city anywhere in the world to not walk alone in areas you do not know at anytime.

If caught in Parque Espana carrying supplies for BangBang57 ... GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL! DO NOT PASS 'GO'! ... or at least expect a harrassing 30 minutes of brown-trouser questioning.

There's a lession in all this ... I'm sure of it. :D

Now that is a "Muy Tico" thing. I have always been fascinated by how they will give directions when they have no clue rather than just admit they do not know!!! Hmmmm, But you know, it sounds a little like some gringos I have known in my life also   :P

And more importantly, don't fall asleep setting next to Paul Lennon in the small park in front of Solodad church at 6am!! YOU CAN NOT rest your head on Paul's shoulder!!!  :P

OH, and it was not what was in the bag (my stuff), it was who was carrying the bag!!!! A shy little guy with a very big bag!!!

... and it's JOHN Lennon, you old coot! I know the Beatles were WAY past your time (when Rock music actually used rocks), but you could at least get the police report straight! "Paul Lennon" used to hang out at Pucho's.

Don't tarnish my reputation!

OPPSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!   :? Old age fart!! Well at least I knew there was a "Paul" in the group!!! I was a drummer back then so my favorite Beatle was Ringo!! He supported the others!! Without him they would never have had any rhythm and certainly no Rock and roll beat!! :P :P

And by the way, I was 22 and in the Air force at Lackland when they came here the first time. Had been in training with virtually no access to the outside world and I and the other guys could not figure out what all the commotion was all about. We went to the OC to watch them on TV and see what the hell was so great about them. And us with our military crew cuts hated them and all that LONG hair!!! jejejejeje
