From today's ElDiario. Good foto's. The Tico franchisee was pretty blunt about how the bureaucracy greatly delayed his dream project by months and months over stupid stuff.

Anyway, 1,900 for a beer, but the few food prices given sounded high. No cover charge.

Is there a customer base for a gringo styled Hard Rock Cafe in CR?

To me it ain't like a Hooters where the int'l fan base is the name, the wings and the waitresses.

Not a Hard Rock fan at all, but the Hard Rock in San Jose has the best burger I've ever had in Costa Rica. I know the bar is low, but the Hard Rock burger I had in San Jose would have been outstanding in the U.S. as well. It is not cheap, but how much would you be willing to pay for a tasty burger made with quality U.S. beef after a week in the rain forest?

How much was that burger? I think they're about 18 bucks at the Hard Rock in Panama City, or half the price of a t-shirt.

Or for a third of that you can get better food (taste and healthier) at the Amistad!! And you will save a big taxi fair also!!!!!

Will never understand why someone would travel all the way to another country and eat at American junk (fast) food places, and pay even more than the same food costs in the states!!! Exception to that is "Hooters"!!  The scenery makes IT all worth it!!!!!! :P

I imagine that they are targeting ticos with money. The TGIF in Escazu is always loaded, and the prices are 2x what they are in the states. They can be cheap bastards, if they only knew....
