I will be in town this Friday, no reservations, first time in CR (San Jose)
Can some good gentleman here on CRT give me a name I could use when I walk into a hotel (please suggest the hotel) that I can say..."I was sent here by my good friend ............., do you have a room for me?" It does not have to be your name, anything will do as long as it works.

I would use the name "Rick" aka Veganbob, Randy444 etc.

Or "Boyd" at the Dunn Inn

You guys are great. Just got off the phone with the Dunn Inn. I said my friend Boyd sent me and I need a room Friday, they said "no problem we will fix you up and treat you like a king" This Boyd guy must be pretty special. Thanks Boynton.

Be sure to say you want the U.S. government discount. When they ask for an I.D. look the desk clerk seriously in the eyes and say "our guys don't get issued I.D. cards", keep staring. Works every time.

By now NBK certainly understands that you don't need clout to get a room in San Jose these days. If dropping Boyd's name at Dunn Inn got him a room, then we all know they have plenty of vacancies. If NBK mentions CRT, I wonder if they will feel they have overcome the storm damage. Let's hope they gave him the veteran service level instead of the newbie service.
