+1. Was there for a week 5x. Hot, hot hot & humid in the city.

Not as bad at the Pacifico beaches and less so in the David or other gringo mountain developments.

Many positives though. Modern downtown office and condo skyscrapers that would remind you of Miami, super infrastructure, roads, easy immigration, very reasonable import duty taxes if you do--blows CR away in that regard, I'd say better medical--at least facilities; it's more gringoized without being gringo--alot to do with because we were there forever with our military bases and the/Our Canal etc until the Peanut President gave it to them.

I can't think of the right way to say this about Panama vs CR, so here goes: more normal then CR for gringo mentality? My dream would be to live in David and absorb all the duty/immigration benefits, and then take 3 or 4 trips to neighboring CR for weeks at a time, but still maintain my Panama residency. Sound crazy?

Yes, but as time goes by your blood thins and the heat affects you less and less. Besides that, every apartment has an a/c, pretty much every store, restaurant and commercial building has a/c there are swimming pools everywhere and there are enough taxis with a/c that you can be comfortable driving if you don't own a car.

Also, the tropical nights in Panama City are the exact right temperature for me. YMMV, but for me and pretty much everyone I know that lives there, temperature is not an issue.

I've spent 2 weeks in Panama (Feb 2005 and Mar 2011) and I have never thought the heat was a problem. Nothing like Cancun
