If you've spent any sort of time hanging around in some of the more popular strip clubs in San Jose, you've surely felt the envious stares of the many Ticos that frequent the same places. I have to admit that sometimes it makes me feel a little uncomfortable - after all, how would I like it if some foreigners with big bucks (comparatively speaking) came into my favorite haunt and suddenly grabbed all the attention of the ladies.

Not that any of this has ever caused me to moderate my behavior at all, but I'm wondering, does this bother anyone else, even just a little bit?

absolutely not!

I make no attempt to read minds or try to think about what folks are thinking about me.

I act in a way I believe is appropriate and let the rest fall as it may.

I however use some caution and common sense......mostly!

I have experienced almost the total opposite of resentment from ticos and go to very tico places.I just blend in enjoy the cultural experience and the show.I often have ticos who know a bit of english try to strike up a conversation with me esspecially if I am alone so they can practice their english and I practice my limited Spainish. The places where I go often know me and always greet me and make me feel welcome. It has been a great part of the overall experience for me.rbc100

I kind of know where your comming from GR. Was having a beer in the Hotel Park one afternoon and these 3 locals were looking over this girl pretty good. Figgured I had given them long enuff to make their move. So I gobbled her up.

I've noticed the locals seems to take forever before making a pitch.
Usually when I go into 747, I'm the only gringo in there. So I do what the locals do. Sit there and stare at the ladies of the day for 10 or 15 minutes. What gets me is sometimes they will get up and leave after all that time staring. Oh well, guess it's their way of getting some cheap eye candy. Later, SB
