Hello, I wanted to get any advice for a good chica friendly hotel under $100 a night? Cocal is $140 so thats out.
Cadillac Rock I tried reserving but nobody emails me back?

Hotel Nine is booked for my days:(

I will be traveling during high season Jan 18 and 19th in Jaco and 20th-25 in San Jose.
Any ideas on decent hotels will be much appreciated, thank you.

This kind of attitude (mindset) does not work in Costa Rica.

I had never heard of Cadillac Rock until I saw it in your post.

I typed "Cadillac Rock Jaco" in a search query and got the facebook page that included their phone number.

Pick up the phone and call them. 011-506-2643-2215

Also the Del Rey now has a hotel in Jaco. Call toll free 1-866-727-0270

Here are two other options that are CRT sponsor hotels in Jaco BUT I don't know anything about them. Search this CRT site for info:

Morgan's Cove http://hoteljacocostarica.com/

Hotel-Poseidon Jaco Beach. Book through - http://www.thirdworldproductions.org/

Hi, thanks for the reply, I did type the Cadillac Rock in Google, and also got their FB page as well as theit website, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cadillac ... 2520903833 but still cannot see their phone # in there. Sorry bad eyesight or something.

I to have never heard of that hotel, but then again, I only stay in San Jose normally. I saw it was a new sponsor in CRT website, and wanted to give Jaco a shot.

The Hotel del Rey you are referring to is $140 plus tax a night minus 10% crt discount, It is Hotel Cocal I believe, that one is a bit to much $$ for my cheap a$$.

Hotel Poseidon is also over $100 bucks, so I will pass on that one as well. I looked up several other hotels but Cadillac is the one to seem to fit me perfectly due to pricing. I can afford other hotels, but I honestly dont see the need as the main attraction are the Chicas :) and I will have more money to spend outside.

I also saw an Add for http://www.claritashotel.com/ but it seems that it is a bit to far from the action.

But again, thanks for the phone # I called them, and nobody picked up, I will give them a try later today.

Nothin is that far away in Jaco, including Clarita's. Also, alot of guys stay at the next beach town, Hermosa, 5 minutes or so to the south, much nicer beach, and then party in Jaco at night. But if you are a back and forth 3-4 times a day guy as I would be, unless you have a car, cab fares can run up.

Playa Hermosa, with several nice, small boutique hotels, is a MUCH nicer beach than Playa Jaco IMHO.

Taxis usually want $8 each way between Jaco and Playa Hermosa for the 3-4 mile ride.

There was a hotel located next to the old Beatle Bar - had big rooms, not on the beach, did not stay but looked at the rooms, I would stay there - it was called the Beatle Hotel. Google it and see if its in business.

There were also 2 small "motel style" hotels across the street from the Beatle Hotel - sorry I don't recall the names, but they were OK and not expensive - located on the mainstreet. Try googling "cheap Jaco hotels"

I'm curious - are you Indian, or East Asian - curious b/c of your handle.

Also, Jaco benefits due to its location as the closest beach town to San Jose - its also one of the few places outside of San Jose that has a P4P/working girls (and yes, you read that right) although I'd never recommend anyone travel to Jaco for that - San Jose is much more varied, less expensive.

I've been to Jaco probably 10 times, and recommend everyone visit at least once, if only to see what its all about.

Last January I found it to be very expensive (for food, lodging, and P4P), especially for food, and the beach is not all that much - not saying you but guys who go for the girls are likely to be disappointed.

I agree with Rac. I like Playa Hermosa. The beach is much nicer than Jaco's. However, the surf is much more powerful at Hermosa, so if you go in the water you need to be careful. Also they have a great place called the Backyard Bar (part of the Backyard Hotel). It has really good food and a tremendous Ladies Night on Wednesday. And like Rac said, it is only a short cab ride to the action in Jaco. I am a happy customer giving my 2 cents worth.

Gersen,
Thank you, does Clarita's allow guests?

Rac,
We will be driving

N2Techno,
Hotel Poseidon is over $100 bucks :(

Boston Traveler,
Please let us Know, thanks.

Scuba1,
Yes I called the beetle hotel, that is actually the number that Icantstayaway provided me rather that the Cadillac rock. I called them but have not had any luck, 1 time had crappy reception and lost the call, and other times it goes straight to voice mail.

I will try cheap Jaco hotels, and see what poops up.

We Just want to give Jaco a try for 2 nights to see what its all about, and then run back to SJO, I will be staying at La Amistad with their all inclusive package.

Im Caucasian, but I made up my scree name many years ago and just liked it and kept it  No real significance.

Well hopefully I dont come cack broke to SJO from Jaco, we shall see....

Hbosbru,
Thank you I will check out that hotel right now as well.

It's high season in Costa Rica. Jaco hotels are much more expensive from November to April.

Driving, eh? Playa Hermosa may be a good option for you. Watch out for the surf. And don't go to the beach at night.

Every time I visit I say never again and reflect on the lack of value - I mean, if I eat at Mortons, or Capital Grill, or Joes, I figure expensive, sure - but a great meal and I don't begrudge the money spent.

I don't feel this way about Jaco b/c I had any type of annamosity for the place - especially in the last few years - I just think it got stupid expensive. I also think you get hard core HDR types, who its tough to get off $100 (or more...)

SORRY DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED

I also think you get hard core HDR types, who its tough to get off $100 (or more...) - paid for gladly by the newbi's who frequent the place and are glad - or too stupid - to pay it - the new "Mecca" the Cocal, is nothing more than a fancy motel.

The food is expensive - think US prices.

(I go with a group every Jan - some of us have been traveling together for 15 years - we have a great deal on fishing - but these guys are "perpetual newbi's" and since they are not poor, only visit once a year, and are real thick headed guys who never progressed past the HDR/KL phase.....Jaco is made for them       )

MH - read your blog - you are an excellent writer! :) :) :)
