Since I use to post a lot and because of all the bull shit that was going on on the board, because of personal reasons, and because of legal issues in Costa Rica at the time, I quit posting. At that time there were several posters with virtually no real knowledge of mongering, of Costa Rica, and of the sex scene in Costa Rica who were telling everyone how to do CR and telling us "old farts" how dumb we were. Most of those characters are gone. A couple are still here but HAD seemed to have calmed down a little. Hmmm, maybe I was wrong about that!!!!!!!!!

For the past few months there has been a total lack of up to date info about a lot of things here. I had recently been thinking about posting again and several members had been hounding me to post info. Recently I was sending a PM to someone that had asked a question and for some reason the PM was posted as a post rather than a PM. At that point I made the decision to return to posting.

I have lived here for 8 years and came here for 10 years before that. I took my first mongering trip more than 50 years ago and have been a swinger and naturalist for all of my adult life. I do have a little knowledge of what it is to be a monger; and I do have a little knowledge of the mongering scene in San Jose. I do not know it all (no one does) . I am not always right!! (no one is). I am a person that all my life has tried to share and help people with like interest. I did walking tours for a few years here and for the whole time I was constantly accused of doing it for personal gain and for money. Anyone who really knows me can tell you I never ask for a penny (It is against the law in this country to profit directly or indirectly from prostitution) Money that was given to me was donated to one of the orphanages here. I was accused by other expats living here of "ruining the MPs and the chicas" by taking gringos who would over pay and over tip to the MPs. I was threatened with physical harm; with being reported to the police for pimping (never). I was accused of all kinds of crazy untrue things. I was lied about to the chicas-to this day there is one very well known chica here who will not speak to me because she refuses to believe that a certain ass (a CRT member) was lying when he told her I posted bad things about her on here. I only posted about her one time and it was all good!!!

It is well known that the OP of this thread and I do not see eye to eye on issues concerning CR and mongering. I am quite sure this thread was a direct result of my return to posting. I AM NOT BEING PAID BY ANYONE AND HAVE NEVER BEEN PAID BY ANYONE TO POST. If you look at my posts since returning you will see I have posted about several business here not really promoting any one. All I have posted has been in response to questions or comments about places here. As for as anyone connected to CRT (ownership nor management) paying, I had never even met Admin3 till just a couple days ago. I knew who he was but had never met him nor talked to him. As for the owner, I have heard rumors as to who he is; but I do not have verifiable knowledge as to who he is (it is a big dark secret, I guess) so how could he be paying me or anyone else. Personally I find the accusation that anyone is being paid by CRT to post quite humorous and an attempt to return to the "old days" of constant bickering and name calling. If the OP or anyone else has any proof of me or anyone else being paid to post, they should present the proof instead of just making accusations!!!


Danialson: Your stupid accusations do not even deserve comment--typical of the characters on here who run their mouth with no knowledge nor facts. As for Relax, I will comment--yes, I AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE REGULARS THERE, get a small discount. In my case, it is not because of my posting about the place but because I have known and been friends with the owner (opps, I forgot , a Gringo can not truly be friends with a Tico ) for many years-long before he closed his MP in Tibas and opened Relax. Yes I have made many favorable posts about the place, but it was not for any personal gain; it was because I like the place and it has (most of the time) very good chicas who give very good service. My posting about Relax and any other MP was to give info to the membership of CRT about the MPs here and nothing more. There are many people that just cannot accept the fact that someone would do things to help others just to try to be helpful and not for personal gain. In my experience most of those who accuse others are people who would NEVER do shit to help anyone else with out there being "something in it for them"!! Funny thing is, as far as I know I do not even know this member but he seems to THINK he has a lot of knowledge about me and my personal life--guite funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have said all I will say on this subject. You can believe what you want to about this issue (you will anyway). I am comfortable in my honesty about the subject, and I know I have NEVER done anything dealing with CRT and the mongers who come here for personal gain. If you do not want me to post, just say so and I will gladly go back to not posting. I have plenty to do with my time here other than posting on CRT.

Dan, I find your ramblings to be highly offensive to the long-standing members that built this board, and struggle to keep it alive. I have met several board members who make money while helping members, and they are all up front about what they do and what they charge. There are many more (BB57 included) that offer assistance and information for no charge. To state (with no justification) that they 'shill' for 'low end places' is disrespectful, not only to the member directly, but too every member that knows them and respects them.

Please review your statement, and either offer a justification, or a retraction. The board has lost enough members due to this type of ill-thought wording.

Yes, I'm paid to post - and have been by the current owners, as well as the previous owners. In fact, here is a quote from a PM they sent me in the past:

".....because of your exalted knowledge, and off the charts IQ, as well as knowing Costa Rica better than any native, we beg you to post and will pay you $25.00 per post - if your post is nasty, and contains New York style humor, we will increase payment per post to $45.00, payable at the end of each month"

So there you have it - I feel a lot better now that I've confessed

C'mon, Orange - you are too smart of a guy to really believe - despite shaking my head over some of the slowness of the board and other issues - that the ownership is so hard up that they would pay guys to post - the fact we have Jaz, Zippy, and the return of BB57 is just a mere coinsidence

Obviously I'm kidding, but I welcome all the posters back, especially my old friend BB57.

Speaking specifically about BB, you can like his posts, agree with them, or not - but what you cannot dispute is the "boots on the ground knowledge" is invaluable.

I know him personally, and will say he has always been the kind of a guy willing to share knowledge, at no monetary gain. So he has strong opinions - hell, its a message board, that's what happens around here.

The great thing is we <hopefully> have room for all points of view - for example <and I like both these guys, so apologies for using names but it really helps make the point> BB57 and Coolguy are polar opposites in their approaches, for many reasons - and guess what; they are both correct. Does it really change your life if he gets a <small> discount at an MP he is likely to patronize more in a month than most would in a year.

Nothing wrong with promoting favorite places, rest's, girls, taxi drivers, whatever - I remember (speaking of guys we don't see post anymore) a whole contingent of Boyd worshipers, now strangely silent ; and while I like both places, and respect the heck out of Bill for making the Sportmans the success it is, you have to admit his place and the old HLH got rave reviews on CRT for the most part. As many know, I'm a longtime visitor to CR, having well over 40 trips in the past 15+ years - but I'll be the first to acknowledge what really ramped up my knowledge was the time I spent with BB 5 or 6 years ago, and I'll always be greatful to him for sharing that with me .


PS Dan, I don't mind a post with an "edge" to it and will defend your right to say what you want in the way you want to say it - but your shot at living on SS is a little off the mark - how the hell do you know what he pays or does not pay, or what he can and can't afford? a little "chippy", no?

I hope no one got paid for anything that was posted on this thread, which I have found to be utterly devoid of value.

And if his contributions save me $10 and an hour of my vacation time, then that is already worth a CRT lifetime membership fee. And if BB57 gets a BJ as a reward, more power to him.
