I have found myself reading and rereading and rereading posts because when I click on the "view unread posts" button next to a thread, I get directed to the top of the thread, rather than the first unread post in the thread....but sometimes not the top...for example, on the Gift Recommendations thread, I've read it a dozen times or more, but every time I click on the "first unread post" button, I land on about Post #7 on the first of three pages. Anyone else have this issue? Thank you.

Gentlemen,

I have found that sending a specific PM to The Admin or Admin 3, especially of late, has produced quick results on correcting problems of this nature on the forum.

Now that just takes all the fun out of it. Its so much more dramatic to denounce my CRT membership and vow to never post again.

And to start my very own Website where everything is Perfect.

Really: The few times when CRT is not going perfect, its usually a good idea for me to give the computer a rest anyway.

Ha Ha! Did you click on the blue "website" thinking you were going somewhere ? Lol.

I think you may be confusing the "View the latest post" link with the View unread posts link at the top of the forum. The later shows you a list of postings that you have not read.

The View the latest post link next to the thread, takes you to the LAST post, and does not consider if you may or may not have read it.

The confusing part is that the list of posts displayed by view unread posts ALSO includes links for view last post. So, if you click view last post it takes you to the last post. You can avoid this by clicking the link to the post on the left hand side.

Thanks for your attention to this. When I mouse over the little rectangle to the left of the topic, I get the message "go to first unread post." But when I click on it, I don't land on the first unread post.

I tried the link on the left, View first unread post and it works fine for me. How exactly does it not work for you? Do you see any pattern in where it takes you?

It just takes us to the first post of the thread, has been complained about for 3 or 4 months now glad you finally took notice.

Yes, that's right. It links to the first post. Maybe because I use Mozilla?

I did some searching, and this is an issue with PHPBB. Sometimes it works if you refresh the page after following the link. Personally, I had trouble on Internet Explorer, but no problem with Chrome.

I have the same problem, sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't, just goes to the first post. Using Chrome on Win XP.

Not only that, but topics which I have read all the posts and haven't had any new ones since I last visited STILL show as having new posts. And the "mark topics read" function usually leaves a couple of topics as having new posts.

All these problems started a few months ago, I guess when all the chnages took place. Before that CRT was working fine for me.

The problem is inconsistent for me. With the "Gift Recommendations" thread, the "go to first unread post" button takes me to this post: 9-15-13 12:24pm and has every time I've looked at the thread for the last few weeks...probably ten times directed to the same "first unread post"

Are you admin3 or do you both just not give a shit about the problem equally? Maybe you've both been in CR too long and are turning muy Tico
