Orange, the last time myself, Gringotim and Royboy eat there it was $30 for a rib dinner. Plus we had to wait for over a half hour to get in but on the plus side we had a few beers while waiting.

Yeah, I remember that. A 45-minute wait around noon. With a couple of beers, it came to about $32 each.
The food was good, but not THAT good.

Went to Tin Jo (think that's how its spelled), good sized menu, had the Phad Thai, it was good but way over priced. I have it for $6.50 in Orange Park, FL (a hole in the wall restaurant run by a Thai family) and a Vietnamese restaurant (around same price). It was $12.00 at Tin Jo. Did find a food court near the El Presidente, 3 floors, good food, prices not bad. Local CR food, Japanese, Italian, Columbian, check it out.

Of all the places listed, I generally prefer Del Mar for food. Chubbs has good bar food when I'm in the mood for that. Amistad has been good, as has Mona Lisa, but they keep changing cooks, so the items and quality do change. JR Ribs is good, but overpriced. The ribs are not cooked nearly long enough, or not at the correct temperature, or something is making the meat tougher than it should be. The pulled pork sandwich is good, but they put a very small amount of meat on it, for what I recall is a 5K or 6K sandwich.

Others in the gulch mongering area that are not listed in the poll, but that I like are Tin Jo, La Esquina de Buenos Aires, and La Criolitta.

Head down to Calle Central and Avenida Central, and a 2 block square contains all the fast food (both USA and Costa Rica chains) that you will need for weeks, without hitting the same place twice. Lots of other decent places in this area that are not fast food and decently prices, such as Multicolor, El Steinvorth (a little pricey), and that big 2-story place on Avenida central, north side, between calle 5 and 7 (can never remember the name).

I think you might be referring to the South side, Galleria Central. 3 floors. Lowest floor Soda Mari, jammed by locals. Coffee, 2 eggs, pinto, natilla and pan y mantequilla tostada. Big breakfast, $3.40 (1700). Enjoy.

Simple...At the Sportmen Lodge, I usually can be found in the back stuffing down a BLT...Mmmmmmmm good. At La Amistad, it's the pork chop or surf & turf. Soda Peru, it's usually the Casada, plata del dia. Mona Lisa it's the Club Sandwich and last, the Del Mar, I like their sea bass. All good choices.

I know the place you're talking about, which is alright.

Now I realize I was off by a block, it's between calle 7 and 9. El Patio.
