I will go to CR San Jose with a couple buddies in 2-3 weeks, I have heard about the Del Rey, being the best place for numbers of chicas, please advise me on other hotels etc, where chicas hangout, their looks, their numbers and any advice you have would be appreciated, also hotels that are friendly at allowing a guest visit...Thank you in advance......I think many here are great and gracious to share with newbies, so I joined as a VIP lifetime member...

:?: WTF kinda advice is that?

Anyways, the looks and number of a girls is always a difficult thing to predict as it can change drastically from one day to the next. Thankfully though the Del Rey is not the only option in town. Sportsmens Lodge is another option well suited for finding a decent girl also the many MP's throughout the Gulch area and around town. Key Largo at night is also a option but in my opinion goes hand in hand with Del Rey as they are next to each other. As a newbie on a first trip the Del Rey and Sportsmens will be your most convent options. But you are certainly not limited to them. Hotel Mona Lisa typically has a few girls and is also friendly to you bringing a girl in from outside. Hotel little havana is normally on my recommendations but no real clue what's going on with them and the renovations. Honestly one of your best bets if neither you or your buddies know the town is to hookup with someone like Puravidatransport and get a tour. Also read on the board as much as you can, read Oranges newbie post, check out my walking tour guide for a visual of some of the spots. Don't make many set plans, go with the flow and have a good time.

if you are looking for women to pay for sex, which i can only assume you are, my best advice would be to go to SL in the late afternoon and talk to a few guys.
likely you find people happy to not only talk about but escort you where you want to go. whether its DR or any of the myriad mp's.
SL also has many independent girls hanging out there.
its not possible to know how they are going to "look" one moment to the next or if its your type or price range etc.
you will also find guys knowledgeable about the non pro hangouts. local dance clubs and places that you might meet a costa rican woman.
if its your first time down i also highly recommend SL as a base of operation. most of the hotels in the barrio amon area do not charge chica fees. but places like DR, holiday inn etc do. and places like presidente won't allow them in period.
its an ever changing scene and the best on the ground info is sitting at the bar in SL. good luck

Sounds as if you still haven chosen a hotel, yet you're going in 2-3 weeks... is that right? Might be a little challenging to find rooms at this late date for the Sportsmens Lodge.

You might want to check Hotel Amistad, Castillo, Hotel Little Havana, Dunn Inn, or the Mona Lisa. All of these are chica-friendly with no guest fees.

I know, I know, a lot of guys don't like this place but if you want to be close to the DR and don't want to pay the chica fee. The Morazan is an option. Chica friendly, couple of minute walk to the DR. If you get wood in the middle of the night, it's a short walk to find relief.

cheers,
Attila

I'll take a swing at your question, since its a very valid one and I have been a little underwhelmed at the answers thus far.

Sure, the Delrey is a well known place with lots of girls available - I don't love the place, but for new guys, its a great option - as is the Sportsmans. Given the choice, I'd stay at Sportmans or Hotel Little Havana vs the HDR.

But don't forget the various massage parlors, which offer what you are seeking at lower prices; plus <and save the flames if you don't agree> you could ask a girl you like to come to your room later that evening or in the morning before she starts her shift - I would pay no more than $60 for this.

Good venues:

Hotel Little Havana
Relax
Idem
Candyland
360

(Be cool and discrete if you ask a girl to come to your room - some places don't want their girls doing this; however they are independent contractors, and you are asking them during their "non working" hours - there is no "mama san" in Costa Rica MP's; you don't pay the house to let them come to your room or leave the premises - but do get their number - almost all have cell phones, and most consistently have new numbers because they tend not to pay their bills - also know most MP's close early (Idem and Candyland may be exceptions), many are closed before 9 or 10 PM).

I think every rookie/newbie should stay at the Delrey at least once to get the so called "Belly of the Beast" experience.

Not to be contentious, but c'mon......the guy asked a question and no one really answered it - thus why I posted as I did - re read the thread, you will likely come to the same conclusion as I.

Good point.

We should have tried to stay on point here, but sometimes there are things that you just can't let go. So in the end the poster got good advice and a terrible statement made by someone was buried very quickly.

Should we start handing out awards now??????? ;)

I will be guarding the cooler until LAD comes to take my post!!!!
