Please post but don't be a pompous douche who thinks they know everything after spending a few days in Costa Rica. If you come off as genuine the posters here will go out of their way to help you; if not..fly Icarus fly...
As this was addressed to me indirectly, I'll say that at no time have I ever given the suggestion that I know everything about CR. This is an exaggeration, and a large one at that.
I made a critical error in advising the poster to "Relax". And then I uttered one of the dumbest phrases on the board: "You're safe in Costa Rica".
I got called out on it (albeit childishly) but it was deserved. I entered a retraction and admitted I was not qualified to make such a statement.
And then I challenged a long standing member's advice to "be careful", to "use common sense and street smarts", made to a newbie who was asking how to avoid a certain pitfall.
I used sarcasm to bite back. And I got bitten in return.
I have been told to shut up at least 5 times in this thread alone.
And now I am accused of posting to much, asking too many questions, and having a secret agenda.
Wow! What a week.
I am sorry to have bored you with my questions. I had hoped to start up meaningful threads that newbies could get something out of. I know you guys keep telling us to "read and study", but the board is so clogged with pointless threads, that going back and back into the older threads gets dizzying. The search system is not very friendly. That is why newbies keep asking the same questions cyclically.
They need new content to consume, even if it is some rehash. It's fresh to them.
I still have many questions about Costa Rica. I'm surprised that you guys find that strange. But I won't ask them here anymore; at least not in the forums. And I'll stop posting to your threads as well. With less than 7 days on the ground, I really don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said.
Thanks.
