I made a couple of brief comments last night about my stay at LA last week, but wanted to elaborate a bit.

As soon as Matt announced his all inclusive deal, I jumped on it. I hadn't stayed at LA for a few years, but always enjoyed staying there. Matt and Don have taken the LA experience to a new level with all inclusive.

Rudy booked me at the regular CRT rate for #308 the night I arrived b/c the bar had closed and didn't make sense to pay the extra $19 for that night.

From the next day until the minute I took the sad taxi back to SJO, I don't think I was sans cerveza at any time. The food at LA is top notch. A couple of mornings they didn't have bacon at breakfast, but the sausage was a good alternative. The food was awesome..usually too much for me to eat at one sitting. Next time, I will specifically ask Jose to cut back on the amount of the pasta or risotto dishes..delicious, but too much for me.

The staff at LA really makes the difference. Whether it was Rudy keeping in contact with me on the flight down that had to divert to PTY, or Karol's bubbly personality at the bar (Karol is a real doll!). Estel, Hazels sister, is the new bartender is a sweetheart also. Speaking of Hazel, she's still the best in the Gulch, IMHO.

There are more plans in the works that will take the all inclusive experience to a different level soon. I'm sure Matt will let everyone know shortly.

Also, the train in the morning never bothered me. A few years back, yeah...it sucked...but now the morning whistle doesn't start until about after noon.

I hope to get back to LA soon.

Gents

FYI

The train does not run on weekends and holidays

The train runs in the morning every half hour from 5:30 am til 8:00 am. We pay 3 crossing guards from 5 am til 10 am and have an agreement with Incofer (the government agency) to not blow the horn during this time period. We solidified this agreement with lunch for the train chauffers every Friday. In the evenings the train run from 4:30 pm til 7:00 pm every half hour. During this time you will hear the horn as we do not post crossing guards. Because of the aforementioned agreement with the chauffers, they try to keep it to a minimum.

CH was the room closest to the tracks and appeared to not have a problem. If any guest has a problem with the train noise simply let us know and we handle it immediately.

Regards
Matt and Don
