Hi. I'm going on my 3rd trip to CR. They've been all great. My question... instead of the usual jaunt to the DR/BM, etc., anyone have any experience with the dating/marriage agencies in San Jose? They are very inexpensive to sign up, and although I will be down there probably several times a year, I thought it might be very cool to hook up with some of the many ticas who are looking 'for a few good hombres', even if for a few days. Hey, they should be more affectionate, and all the positive things not necessarily found in 'the gulch', i.e., the BM.
Anyone have experience with them? I hear the ratios of girls to gringos is also very large.

Quite often you can meet these girls through the agencies you refer to and then meet them all over again at KL/DR. Pick your poison.

MadMax;
I have had a little success there.
2 out of 15 were actual candidates.
The rest were scammers, working pros, etc.

Join the CRT VIP club, and find some valuable reading there.
And, NO, I am not affiliated with the owners of CRT.

I can verify what Gringo Malo said is true in two cases I know of, probably more if I look longer.

I met one through a dating site last week. We had lunch and she was busy with her Ch*ld that night.

To my surprise guess who I saw at the Del Ray that night. But she was only there to translate for a friend.

Using a translator to me is the difference between a cbj and bbbj.

I used one for one trip. The one called MyTicas. For me, it was largely a waste of time, money, energy. Maybe I just had bad luck. Hard to say. Saw 3 of them. One a definite pro. Another just looking for $. One was nice, essentially the real thing. It was interesting; she took me to a local arts and crafts show, introduced me to her friends, showed me her house. She was pretty, no K*ds, but also not an ounce of English. I may be 20-30% spanish fluent... so very difficult communication. The deal had possibilities. She was shy. Sexo didn't seem to be in the cards. I didn't have the willingness to commit the time and effort to it. I have no reason to believe the agency was not making an honest effort. In all likelihood they were.
