I guess CRT is home to a new hall pass monitor. No idea why threads of the likes about Puchos burning down are locked within a few hours.... It was relevant as it occurred in the gulch and is often joked about on this site for many reasons. To lock it with lack of any cause is just plain stupid!

Whoever the new Admin3 was probably ****personal attacked removed********

Edited for grammar correction, should have read before posting.

Moderator's Note: This posting was locked and edited to remove a personal attack, which is prohibited by the forum rules. You may disagree with the policies of the forum, but a personal attack against the moderator will not be tolerated, and as a result the poster has been banned.

CRGolfer, a friendly warning: you are in violation of the rules re: public discussion of an administration decision/action. Please review the rules.

I didn't see anything wrong with that thread. It was relative information about the gulch, and a little ball busting.

Are we not even allowed to have fun with our fellow CRT board members anymore? Some of these members (myself included) have known many of the other members for 10+ years. And have traveled around the world with each other. And now we can't even joke around? Especially in a thread about Pucho's?

Granted, I would never wish bad luck (or a fire) on any business venture, but come on.... let's get real. Is this the direction that the "new + improved" CRT is going? All posts must be informative, with no humor whatsoever??? I guess time will tell, but if first impressions are indicative of this site's future? Well, let's just say that I wish the new owner of CRT the best of luck with his "investment". :| There's a big difference between moderation, dictatorship and censorship. We went from one extreme to another....

And if the Admin feels that this post is worthy of banning me, or putting me in time-out, or whatever, then this will have answered my question.

Pura Vida!

Thanks for taking the time to provide measured and detailed feedback. I really appreciate your opinion, and the gentlemanly way you provided it.

Actually, I locked the topic because as I mentioned it involved discussion of a gay night club and I saw that it had become a chance to exchange some gentle ribbing between members. I did not issue any banning or warning, but just locked it with an explanation because I was worried it might confuse some new members.

After further thought, I have unlocked the topic, but left behind a note for anyone who might be confused about the reference to a gay night club.

Again, I thank you for your feedback and many contributions to the forum. Above all thank you for being a gentleman.

Discussion of the decision to lock the topic was not covered by the policy. If the policy is not clear then perhaps a revision is in order. If you think forum content was moderated in error or with poor judgement, then please do not hesitate to voice your opinion, much as Mucho Gusto did.

The policy strictly covers the disciplinary actions taken against members for policy violation. For example, the decision to ban CRGolfer for making a personal attack is not up for public debate.

Also, the decision was made to edit content instead of deleting because it makes the moderation more transparent and enables the members to provide feedback.

Phoenix Rising should be banned for intentionally misinterpreting the rules.

It is getting to the point that no one will want to be a member or post on this site. I know there
is some flaming on this site but most of the posts are innocent of malice. If it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Trying to be Politically Correct on a site such as this a losing proposition. Such as eating ass an such posts. lol Monger's are guys that march to the beat of a different drum. All have at least one thing in common they like pu*sy. This site has made it a long time but I do not see a great future if it becomes too PC or overbearing on what member have to say. Censorship should be a last resort option for this site.

Absolutely! Perhaps the Admins could step back, take a breath and think about going from very little or no moderation to ruling with an iron fist.

With these new complicated rules and attitude of the Admins I feel many members are scared to "voice their opinions", seems if you don't like the tone or manner which those opinions are voiced then the member gets banned, thread locked or posts disappear.
For crying out loud this is a forum of guys that live to party, have fun and bang hot women, not some high society group of Harvard graduates discussing quantum physics. Ease up already.
That's my opinion.

I agree totally with your point. In general, you only need to behave like a gentleman, and avoid making personal attacks.

The detailed rules are just so we have a standard way of dealing with those who fail to behave like gentleman.

Good call.

Boards like CRT are not a democracy, yet if the board is going to survive, and grow, there needs to be dialogue between Admin and the membership. I did not read the Puchos thread until now, but did not see anything wrong with it as it presently stands. However, this is not my website, and not my call. If the Admin/Moderator deems a thread is not consistent with board policy, then by all means lock it... but as a minimum, add a paragraph explaining the rationale for locking this thread. If someone feels the need to disagree with this action in the public forum, do so with respect, and argue the point in a mature, logical manner. (Or do it with a pm.) Over the years, CRT has developed a culture of laissez-faire with little to no moderation at all. Personal attacks and grandstanding virtually went unchecked. Conduct between members was often rude and condescending. (I have been guilty of that as well.) I believe this is one of the main reasons why many members left the board or just stopped posting. The new Admin has his work cut out for him with respect to cleaning up CRT.

Just my two cents. :|

Let's not forget that (most of us) have PAID to be members of this website. Therefore it should be a democracy and it IS our website.

Yes but the new ownership doesn't seem to respect that. Maybe a boycott of CRT sponsors would be appropriate. Also, I think all long time posters should stop posting information and supply new content to the site.

The new moderation is totally overboard. This is our board. We paid. We provide all the content. I will not patronize any CRT sponsors until this moderation craziness is fixed.

+1000000

Going from zero oversight to thought control overnight is akin to cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in 15 minutes.

While theoretically possible, you may not be happy with the results.

I do appreciate the new owners are willing to moderate. It may take them some time to find the right balance.
