I don't have anything else to report, I get emails from the HDR since I stay there often and I just got one announcing they have just opened a new location in Jaco, no mention of where, room rates, if it's on the beach, or if it has a large lobby or pool area where mongers can hook up with girls.

I'll post more if I get follow up emails with details, but since so many CRT brothers like to go to Jaco, I wanted to let everyone know. If nothing else, it provides another choice for jaco visitors that may be less expensive than the pricey Cocal. I suppose you can call HDR and get the details. I'll post the email I got soon.

I responded to their email with questions, if I get answers, I'll post them. Even though I love Costa Rica and Costa Ricans, getting a straight answer and straight story out of them is like getting your goldfish to explain his views on quantitative easing...

Interesting. I guess it wasn't the Mona Lisa that brought the HDR jefe back a few months ago... it was this project. It appears the gulch is shifting to the coast. Just my thoughts...

I venture to Jaco 2-3 times per week. If there was a new location, I would know about it. . There is nothing being built. I do know that Big John has looked at the Cocal and my guess is he wants to buy that location. It's already established, has probably more girls than the Rey, plus it has a nice Casino. It would not surprise me if you see an name change coming soon to something like Del Rey Jaco. Just my opinion of course.

I have some information that it is not the Cocal. It is however on the beach, not too far away. They say they will run shuttles back and forth. I'm getting this info from someone close to the operator. My guess is John wants to run the Cocal off. Let's see what happens.

He bought an exisiting hotel/casino close to the Cocal

Looks like he is trying to make up for losing business at the HDR by trying to expand. How successful things will be will depend on how the place treats mongerers and ladies alike at the new place compared to back at the HDR in SJO.

Was down in Jaco yesterday doing a little recon. Does look like it's going down. If anyone want to check it out for yourself as well as the Cocal, the bus pulls out of the S.L. tomorrow at 2 pm, back a midnight. Let me know asap because space is limited.

Like Mike321 posted above the hotel is the Canciones Del Mar. The name may be changed to Del Rey Jaco in the near future.
