CRT is the only Message Board site Ive ever been on where if I ask a question ,I come back the next day there are ten answers and links and sometimes private messages from people who want nothing but to help a guy out . There are some dueshbags for sure but in the non-CR section I have gotten more info then ISG and all the others combined ,this format works in how you can start your own thread ,unlike isg when you post you come back your 3 pages behind and only get insults .

CRT rules and always will .As for the ADMIN 1 He is the real life Dos Equis guy ,When superman was a K*D he wore ADMIN 1 pajamas to bed . The boogie man looks for ADMIN 1 under his bed at night . He has to take alot of shit and cyber attacks his job aint easy im sure he dosent make thousands a week profit this is hard work . The reason the post are down is because Costa Rica is getting old and other destinations BLOW it away except for the Tourist infrastructure and The amazing rainforest ,mountains and Volcanos ..the main reason I started in CR was the woman and now its the last reason i would go .I believe this is normal evolution for the average Adventurer .

No one said a thing about Costa Rica sucking, the topic is CRT is sucking. The site being down for hrs at a time, yeah lack of bandwidth, the doing away with the old picture section, the jumping of the screen when a 2-line add comes up, the searh function not working, the new admin's ignoring my pm's regarding technical issues, yeah crt is starting to suck.

I remember the summer of '03, there was a site called CRS which imploded due to fighting between the posters, Tomas then led us to CRT & all was good again. Well now 10 yrs. later, it's the summer of '13 & it looks like CRT is now imploding due to the new admin's "don't give a shit what the members say attitude". Could it be that history will repeat itself & T******* will be the new go-to place for cr info? Time will tell.

I am not surprised, after doing little checking into where this site is hosted at. I see it is hosted at Liquidweb, due to the traceroutes, and considering the bandwidth usage, not surprised on it. If they want to have good quality site, they can look at going over to Micfo.com. I am the one of the guys who runs the company there, and we can resolve half of the problems with this.

But if they want to pinch pennies, that is their call for it for going with Liquidweb itself.

For the new guys, the gringo owner of that site is the lowest of low with a CR track record that would make you puke. Hold off on supporting that piece of shit please.

Just as an example, and this is only one of the bunch of scams he pulled, he was using two or three or more CRT names in disguise to post different posts, often way beyond the pale, too often to denigrate legit guys, and most importantly biz's, under the pretense he was somebody objective. Would you appreciate a post that says x,w, & z is great or is horrible--but it's from the same guy with an agenda? That's what he was doing. He's a creepy manipulating wierdo. Dual/triple Id's to decieve, you get it I'm sure.

He is well known by respected members of this board who will tell you the same. Don't buy his site. The solution is for this site to replicate, if it can, the better features of dog ass's new site. I sense a certain dysfunctionality with CRT now, I think it will pass. Or it's doomed. Hello CRT? Wake up.

However, whomever is currently running CRT needs to stop the bleeding as fast as possible.

I will not be going to CR anymore after 2 more trips in June and July to close out my biz affairs. Loved CR 15 years. Time to move one. PR bound. Main reason: very hard to get to from my major city, although United now has a 1x a week non-stop Sat-Sat from my major city 5 hs. Did it last week, great, really good, but Sat-Sat doesn't work for me. So, other then that, it's a 2-plane, 8.5 air ordeal. The older you get, the more important this becomes.

I can get non stop to PR and no rain. Action is not a prolem, I bring my own anyway.

The board needs new guys and to disregard the "self appointed fact checker" pain in the ass that run new guys off. We all know who we are talking about. He does it once a week at least. Obviously an anal upbringing many of us suffered, but it kills new life on the board. He doesn't get that.

If anyone wants info on Quepos, I am available via PM. I think I know Quepos after 12 years of hanging there as well as anyone else here.

For those who are not totally interested in p4p, Quepos is the best destination in CR. And it has a hospital w/ adjacent airport for med evac 100' meters away. Very important to the wise.

CRT is still a great site. I miss the photos but if they work the bugs out on this the technical end of the site will be fine with me. CRT is not just a website, it is a community. We are all in this together. The information that is shared is invaluable to the community. If you look at Costa Rica as a whole you will see that conditions here are different than years past. Five years ago the city was full of tourists from all over the world. You rarely see large groups anymore. The world economy has limited travel. The cost of flights is a huge deterrent to coming down. When I started coming down there were flights from Atlanta to San Jose for $250 round trip. Now I'm happy if I get under $600. Costa Rica offers advantages over DR, Medellin and Thailand. In DR the girls are almost exclusively Dominican, or Haitian. Medellin, the girls are almost exclusively Colombian (nothing wrong with that, the ones in Colombia are not like the mercenary ones that frequent the Del Rey). Costa Rica offers the total mix of Nicas, Ticas, Colombians, Dominicanas and occasional Braziliana and Guatamalan. The time factor in traveling to Thailand and Colombia is another consideration. You don't hop a flight at breakfast and hop a girl at lunch. Then we get to the language factor. You better have Spanish skills if you go to Colombia or DR. Finding the person on the street, the taxi driver, the waiter or the girl who speaks English will not be as easy. Safety is another factor. You can be the victim of a crime or accident anywhere. At least in Costa Rica there is a large enough group of members that we can keep track and help each other. I know that when I was injured the assistance I received from concerned members was invaluable and comforting. I don't say don't check out the other venues. This lifestyle is an adventure. I love to hunt and the trips I have made to hunt elk in Colorado and birds in South Dakota will forever be special to me. But Georgia is home and whitetails are king. The fellowship with the friends that I have enjoyed in these endeavors, not the killing part, is what was important. Costa Rica will always be my mongering home. I can find women. They are where you find them. The friends that I have make through CRT are the real value of this site.
Where are the sites promoting the other venues that give as much information as CRT. The admin. does not provide the information, the members do. I see too much bickering and infighting on the board. Enjoy the input that people in the know can provide and overlook personalities. Appreciate what others share and realize it is from their perspective. They may be right on target or not have a clue but you can respectfully disagree. Many contributors have drifted away. Bangbang, Cuba Dave, Havana Mike, Boyd like them or not they provided a huge amount of information to this site. Their rolls have not been replaced.
For years the Del Rey was king. Now, the king is sick, not dead. Few who stay at the Del Rey have
ever heard of CRT. Most who visited the Del Rey are there for a night or two during their Costa Rica fishing vacation or business trip. They are the ones who made the Del Rey known worldwide. Now they go directly to Los Suenos from the airport. CRT made, the Sportsman's Lodge, L'Amistad, HLH, Mona Lisa and now the Cocal what they are. Without CRT members, these hotels would be hurting. The Rey made the mongering scene in Costa Rica what it is. Now, half the people that you see inside are Ticos. They are not there to buy, just look. This scares off many local girls who do not want to run into their cousin, boyfriend, or neighbor. The Rey permitted this to happen as their drink profits declined during the recession. The same thing is happening at the Sportsman's Lodge to a smaller extent (fight night). Bill should cancel this, it is not something that gringos are there to see and it is creating an atmosphere that hurts his business among the ones who are important, the ones who rent his rooms. The decline at the Del Rey hurts all the mongering scene in San Jose. The Cocal is the venue without this problem at the moment. The Cocal offers the girls a place to go where they are less likely to be discovered by people they know. The competition for customers and the expense to get there culls the less attractive ones. The local girls who will p4p are still here and there are plenty of beautiful women in Costa Rica. Finding them is just different now. There really is little day scene in Jaco. There is little early and middle of the week scene in Jaco. The girls are not there to catch the monger. They are there to catch the vacationer. They go down on Thursday and Friday and come back on Sunday. They stay 4 or 5 in a room and ride the bus or share taxis to get down. They are on missions to make money. This is not fun for them. Same is pretty much true for the girls you meet at the Rey, specially the Colombians. This is why they are mercenary.
Just as we need to adjust to be successful with the scene as it is, the website needs to hear the vibes from the members. Admin says they hear us and are making changes. Hopefully the changes will come quick enough and the site helps to turn around this overall decline in the scene.
