gross receipts can make a difference, but for the most part you're right. reputation can be a big plus if indeed that burger or whatever is viewed as a really good product as well. if the rep is bad it can be impossible to overcome as well.
pretty hard to make a case for selling a good business ime. especially a small one. cause if business was that brisk why would you sell it? or why wouldn't someone close to you try and steal it before it hit the market.
either way i wish the owner luck and if it is still there in june i will stop in for a burger. cheers.
