Hello all I miss doing my daily picks on CRT - but the new format does not afford me that luxory so I guess I'll continue to enjoy my retirement of going to the Racetrack, Playing golf and getting fatter & older
In the Interim we did not head to Churchill downs this year but will be viewing the races from our table at Gulfstream Park where we can eat, drink and gamble after 18 holes tomorrow morning worse ways to go.
My onsite people tell me the prohibitive Favorite "ORB" is looking and training great over the Churchill track.
A: I don't like favorites in the derby to win and B: at the Fla Derby I have never seen a horse get so hot, bothered and lathered up in my life. He was completely and utterly washed out before and after the race. The fact he won still shocks me. Not a particulary fast time and Its My Lucky day was not completely 100% for the race Plesa stated so and Shanghai Bobby broke his pelvis so how good was that race?
Verranzano the other hot horse undefeated but never raced as a two year old.. in over 120 years this trend means he can't win.. if he is good enough he will buck those trends my vote is he gets a share but not the winning roses.
Goldencents Santa Anita Derby winner and the most impressive prep race of them all. Doug Oneil tries to repeat with a rookie derby jockey tought spot all around distance is a question, but was impressive.
Java's War came from last to first in his final prep and loves the mud - if an off track he will get a share of the proceeds.
Revolutionary Tough to leave off this ticket but I simply don't like him.
It's My Lucky Day REMEMBER HE WAS Favored over Orb in the Fla Derby, His Trainer "Plesa" did not have him 100% on purpose and he was just short... will be great value of 12 to 20-1.
My numbers come up GOLDENCENTS but my heart wants a Super Horse Like Veranzano or Orb to sweep the whole dam thing....
