Okay Fellows....be nice.

Netgems, I was only playing with you. Since you are somewhat new to this site, you don't know me or past history. I know you mean no harm since you appear to be a nice fellow.

Although I do not post much anymore, I have played many rolls on the site and some before it. I enjoy being satirical, slapstick and just plain weird. Irish Drifter and M.G. are two of the most experienced gentlemen on this site. They have certainly been a mainstay in keeping this venue going forward.

I first set foot in CR in 1971. Looking for some Vietnam vets that went astray after the war. Did a number of trips in the 80's and later returned in late 90's.

The only thing that kept me returning after 2000 was the brotherhood that I found when a hand full of us in a former site, CRS, met in country. It grew to several hundred through the years after becoming CRT. Finding friends in far away places was intriguing.

I certainly hope that you enjoy the friendships that are there to be made. You will one day find out that it's not the mongering so much as it's the bond you will make with fellow travelers. This works hand in hand and this site has successfully drawn that together....thanks to the Webmaster.

Best to you and family,

Circus

Thanks for the update and the history, Circus, I definitely enjoy the camaraderie here, I have communicated with several guys and got good tips on different girls like Seabreeze just gave me on Erica. Different guys have given me tips, phone #'s, email addresses, recommendations etc., etc.

I have done the same, not only on the girls but on all sorts of topics. I've been coming here and loving it since 2003, and after I lost my fortune and great job at Lehman Brothers in the Real estate crash of 2007, I moved here, got a job and stayed in Sabana Oeste 2 years before returning back to the USA because I got a good job offer. I am 59 now and fully intend to retire back here in 3 years. I currently try to get down here 2x a year and have introduced CR to about 1/2 dozen of my friends, we try to schedule our visits together.

I was teasing ID because he gave me some ribbing on some other posts, and I noticed he also lives in Sabana Oeste, I PM'd him to find out how close he was to where I previously resided, seems we lived real close to each other when I lived here and we even know some of the same people. I appreciated him showing me how to do the smiles, I've been confused about them since I joined. Thanks, ID.

When I lived here I was surprised at the camaraderie and friendship offers I got from other expats, I think I made a couple dozen friends. I have a friend of mine, 60's, divorced and basically alone except for a few friends here in the states. I have been talking to him about retiring here with me and one of the issues of concern he brought up was he didn't want to grow old down here and not know anyone in a strange foreign country, he hasn't visited here yet. I told him he will quadruple his friends by coming here, and in a short time he will have true sincere genuine friends and we all look out for each other.

Gringotim: Good to see you are alive and well.

Shitass is a survivor and has ample supplies from the city dump site next door. She will do just fine since my long time amigo will drop in to see that she is okay. As for CTY, my estranged son, he is worthless and does not have a clue. He and my bitch ex-wife gringa continue to be a thorn to my trying to live in the neighborhood.

Best to you and family.

YO fellow travelers:

Just returned from my stay at the Dunn Inn. My old ass was tired after spending about 8-1/2 hours in airports and flying....then another 3 hours driving my old pick-up from Orlando to the pits of Jax. As for the Dunn Inn...enjoyable but with some negatives also. As for SJ.....more negatives. As for friends there...only positive.

I stumbled into my condemmed abode almost at midnight and after drinking my last three mini vodkas....I fell into the bed and slept until this riducoulous 6am time in the morning. Why in the hell am I up...I should have slept longer. Will report later...especially about the Tranny that I met on my last night. Geezzzzz.

Just for the record....

I was mostly all positive about the Dunn Inn and my stay there for the first time.

I met the owners and the Inn manager. Very nice folks.

I sent an email to John, the manager, informing him that I would like to write an article about the history of that property as I have done with other establishments in SJ.

Apparently, I have been snubbed. No reply to my email. It appears that the management does not want free press and accolades about the establishment.

I will not visit the Dunn Inn again. I don't like being rejected when trying to help them with their business.

don't be a bitterman Circus. maybe they are just not sure of your agenda. after all the things people said about them in the wake of the boyd fiasco it would be hard to blame them.

Hey Circus,
did they honor your request for a bed that hasn't been phucked in?

There isn't one in Costa Rica, even the new ones designated for the hotels in the Gulch have to be tested a time or two to see if they can hold up....

John Gomes has a history of snubbing customers. That's why I do not stay there anymore. Once Gomes is gone, I would love to come back.

Yo Gents:

Actually Paco, I slept on the floor. The bed appeared to have had a good bit of sex on it.

LADiablo: They were very aware of my agenda. The owners, Victor and Jack along with Jack's brother, Jeff and me....had a number of conversations about the Inn and SJ. I gave them my 2 cents worth about the bar/ food overpricing and some other problems they might address. They certainly had a good laugh when they saw the video that DonPapi and I did on "Circus Cardboard Inns."

As for Boyd, there is certainly no love lost about him. I spoke with several gringo residents along with the owners of Dunn Inn. Apparently, Boyd was quite a scam man...crook to say the least. It's sad because I liked him but did not know what a fake he turned out to be. I'm sure it will be a cold day in hell before he sets foot back into SJ.....or CR for that matter. Lord help the next lodging business he gets a job with.

In a final note: between air fare, lodging, booze, cien chicas prices and restrictions....CR has finally lost that lost that great place to visit title. To me, there are more desirable and economical places to visit on this shrinking globe. This last trip was due to some dear friends that were in attendance. So many of my favorite establishments have either closed or have declined. Not the same place that I've enjoyed for so many years.

Those who are new to traveling there will not understand and I certainly hope that they enjoy a different CR. As in life...things change, I do not like the changes in this once beloved jewel south of the border.

A tear and a smile,
Circus

Tried the breakfast at both Dunn Inn & Mona Lisa this past weekend. I'd rate the breakfast at Mona Lisa a little better. Went back one night to Mona Lisa for dinner, it was only adequate.
