Hey guys, I thought that I saw a recent post about JetBlue flights from Ft. Lauderdale to San Jose...can't find it so I am starting a new thread. I was happy to discover that I no longer have to put up with Spirit Airlines nickel and diming me (not to mention their 40 lb. weight limit on checked bags). JetBlue has announced that they will be starting direct flights from FLL to SJO starting June 27. I tried to book the flights on their website and the flights are not listed. I downloaded their app and was able to book my flights for September. Once I got my e-mail confirmation I used the link to choose my seats (picking seats using the app was difficult because it does not show the available seats). With tax, the flight came in just under $300.00. The first checked bag (50 lbs.) is included in the price.

See ya on Labor Day!

ps. For those who prefer MDE, JetBlue service starts June 13.

Thanks for the info ! I've been using Spirit forever since non of the other airlines ever came close in price and they flew in and out of Miami, I remember the day when they were not so strict on baggage, and I'm a member of their $9 club. Now with a little competition watch the prices drop ! I'm coming down end of July and will definitely check them out !

Hopefully prices drop with competition. I remember when people got around $100 RT from FLL with Spirit! Too bad JetBlue flight times suck so bad.. I would pay a little extra if flight times were same as Spirit.

$100 ! That must have been some time ago, during 2007 thru 2009 when I lived here, I would always book my required 3 day return to Fla 60 to 90 days in advance and got away many times with $200. I actually like the night flights, usually customs is not backed up during those times, you get thru the streets to the hotel fast, check in, get a good night's sleep and find a morning puta to start your day !

About 3 years ago when I first started going to Medellin. It was about $206 from NY.. Many were paying around $100 from Florida.. Of course not counting luggage.

You can use Jet Blue's Best fare finder to decide what flight is right for you. On June 27th, the one way fare is $265. The next day it drops to $235. And the cheapest fare I see is July 18th, with a return on July 22nd, $165 each way. $330
