The owners, Mr & Mrs Gray's, criminal complaint was dismissed "without prejudice" meaning it can be refiled before the S/L runs out. Uncle ran out of time to bring an indictment. The reporter from Flint MI newspaper told me he talked to their atty and he thought the case would be refiled. Problem was the multi-national evidence gathering process.

So good news for the boys, it'll certainly mean a delay to the new playground's possible demise, at least as to the way it is currently operating.

MOTION WITH SUPPORTING BRIEF AND ORDER FOR LEAVE TO DISMISS COMPLAINT WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Pursuant to Rule 48(a) of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, the United
States of America hereby moves for leave to dismiss without prejudice the complaint
against defendants James Stanley Gray and Karen Amerling-Gray. In this case, the
government needs additional time:
(1) to develop and obtain evidence sufficient to establish defendants’ guilt beyond a reasonable doubt;
(2) to investigate the full extent of the offense(s) in question and identify all other individuals who should be held criminally responsible for the offense(s); or
(3) to decide whether criminal prosecution of defendants for the offense(s) in question is in the public interest.
See generally, United States v. Lovasco, 431 U.S. 783, 790-96 (1977); 18 U.S.C. §
3161(d)(1). The government’s ability to prosecute this case properly would be
substantially impaired were it required to proceed to indictment on or before April 13,
2013. Accordingly, the government requests leave to dismiss the complaint without
prejudice.

Future final developments I would predict are 2 years away? Owners have to re-charged, tried, or plead out (my prediction), or maybe they would win and walk out not guilty.

If not, then sentenced, another 4-5 months for that in the Fed system. Penalties, interest, and fines assessed. Uncle then has to figure out how to do a forfeiture in a sovereign country. Maybe owners will voluntarily turn it over to get some slack.

Who knows, maybe they don't own it anymore, or the deed is so clouded it would take forever.

Alot of variables and anyone's guess at this point.

Easier said than done. I had a group together to buy Jaco Bay about three years ago. We were trying to buy it from Wachovia Bank. Too many liens in the Costa Rica registry to make it possible, some of them only a few thousand.... But way too many loose ends to make a tight margin project files able. The caution of Cocal is the receipt years of construction and outstanding debt for those renovations. Property values diminishing with interest expenses increasing is not an intelligent situation. Even people with the cash flow to buy a property like that know it is smarter and savvy to mortgage the purchase.

A monger or group of mongers to buy a multimillion dollar project, sounds like a recipe for disaster! On a smaller scale, just ask Boyd and his investors! Buying the Cocal unless you are an owner/operator of hotels is just plain stupid! Good luck to anyone who thinks this is a good idea!

Are there still girls hanging around there or is it back to being just a standard hotel?

Yes, they are girls there, lots of them. In the daytime they are loosely dressed because of the heat. When the sun goes down, they put on their best working girl outfits. I tell guys it's like the Del Rey on steroids and with a pool. Update!! Was there last night May 2nd and I counted about 150 ladies of the night.
