I concur with the previous post. The Palacio is not a good mongering choice. You will feel out of place.

NOT Chica friendly, even if you checked in together and she is registered with you! Front drive and front desk staff are assholes about it to. Search for an old post of mine about this! Nice hotel, great poker room.... But even registered guests of the hotel will get selectively harassed by front desk.

That was the way it was with me maybe 15 years ago. We had been there two days already.They said we could move over to their little shit hotel Rincon something or other on the other side of the park. I told them you know what. Fought with them when I got home via credit card dispute. I won. Ha ha. Muchas gracias Barcelo Grupa.

If you want to see the other side of Ticos, give them a suit and tie and authority and don't budge.

I guess its possible places can change - for the better - but it does not happen often. Seems to go the other way (like the Presidente)

Guys, especially those new to Costa Rica - if the place is not a CRT sponsor, and not mentioned as "friendly" on the board - guess what - it probably is not; always a chnce you might find a diamonfd in the rough, but probably not - a simple name typed into the search function might tell you what you want to know

If a place is not mentioned, talked about, etc there is very likely a good reason why - stick to the known suspects and you will be fine
