I may be wrong but it seems that Jaco has been getting more fun reports lately. The Hotel Cocal seems to have replaced the Beetle bar as the "place to go". I haven't been there for a few years, but I have a suggestion for Admin. Perhaps it's time for Jaco to have its own posting section.

Was in Jaco for a week in mid-March.

The Beatle Bar is closed, and is "For Sale by Owner - $55,000USD". I don't pretend to understand the economic conditions down there, but I don't understand how this went from THE place to closed over the past few years.

The Cocal is defintely THE spot in Jaco from the touring I did while down there. A lot more Dominicans than I have ever seen, and I did not run into a single Colombiana. I'm sure there were some there, but did not speak to any gals at all from Colombia.

Still a lot to choose from.

When I was in Jaco Nov. 2011 we visited the Beetle bar. The Beetle was gone and It had been turned into a clip joint with over priced drinks.

I heard reports that those girls are all hard core and the vacationers who go there spoil them and they are all demanding a cien or more. Can anyone refute this ugly rumor ? If not, why go there ?

Why go there? Because that's where all the chicas are! You don't have much of a choice if a lot are going there.

A HDR girl told me they ask for 100-150 because of the overhead involved in living there.. Higher rent, humidity causing them to go to the head dresser more often, etc.

Wish I could, 'Gems

Went in mid Jan - have been to Jaco many times; its my annual boys trip and my friends love the place

You have a lot of hard core cien demanding girls; certainly not all of them - you also have a lot of newbi's in Jaco; they are down for their first trip, and many figure, WTF, its less than I would pay in the USA - personally I don't think all that much of the place and would not go but for my friends.

Oh, and Greg - yes, the Beatle Bar was the place in Jaco but learned the hard way that any business dependent on public taste can have their customer base easily vote with their feet; last year the cover was $14, and the drink prices high - while it was open in Jan, it saw action only when the Cocal shut down around 11PM.

Me and a friend spent a couple of nights in jaco in december.A total fluke happened and we met a couple of girls surfing who occupied most of our time.My girl stayed with me the whole time but my friends left for short periods.I never had any interaction with the girls but the ratio on a tuesday night was 3-1 and on wednesday (they have a dj) it was close to 7-1.My friend was approached 4 different times the quoted prices $80, $100,$120 $120 total for 2 girls.I can believe that there are higher quotes. I dont thimk its a place for bargain hunters. The girls cant make it up in volume so if your looking to pay $60 or less your probably out of luck.

I predict at least during the remainder of my lifetime that San Jose will still have plenty o' putas willing to do the dirty for between $50 and $100. I've been to Jaco 2x and was not impressed, it's a dirty little town. I suppose if fishing is your interest it's worth going, but if surfing is your game the northern coast has superior cleaner spots. A friend of mine lives south of Jaco in a place called Osa Mt. Village and it is gorgeous, so if I went to Jaco, I'm either going north or south once I get there....

If you find a puta you can trust in San Jose, it may be more economical and more enjoyable to take her there for an all nighter rather than get stuck for $150 to $200 for a one hour event from a mercenary there who may sting you with mediocre service...

Hotel Posidieon will treat you right, and card any over nighter chicas sub sin fees. Great food, great bar upstairs, with all the games and hours to 12ish. Might be a discount for CRT but not sure. 8)

I can ditto hotel Poseidon stay there Jan 2012, nice place, near beach, good pool...guest friendly, good rooms, and just enough the main drag enough to reasonably quiet....can't remember exactly price but it wasn't real expensive or I wouldn't have stayed there...and if you need ANYTHING two doors down towards beach is a hostel with a night watchmen (who seems to be there almost all the time) short, skinny guy named Chuckie....just connect with him :-)
