I had been looking for a flight package to the DR in July and they were higher than ever. The package I want is the one with no overnight layovers which is often the only one in a 100 but it's always there. I could go into STI and get a cheaper package but all those packages have overnight layovers and lousey times and I prefer the convenience of POP. I usually pay in the upper 5's for my desired package but for a month it was running at about 9.

Then last Friday night I was looking on the flight sites and I saw my package for 650. Although this is usually more than I pay, I jumped on it because it had come down about 250 in one day and I had hardly ever seen that happen. (It's on UAL although I usually get AA). I rarely look on Friday night because I am usually out that night. I assumed, actually from many posts I have seen on CRT, that you usually get the best prices in the middle of the week at night. I am fortunate I jumped on it because I saw today that package is already back up to 860. But I have since realized that there have been a few other times I have seen deals on Friday night.

So I am wondering if anyone else has had luck on Friday night. Could this be a pattern? I know that in this market there are no reasons for these things.

Not a bad price. Are you coming in from Iah? Friday night? There is not a bad night to come into Ticolandia. The Key Largo should just be starting up by the time you get in. Have fun on your trip.
