I only watch soccer when the US plays CR, which is rarely, or the finals of the World Cup, but I am quite sure the Tico crowd in the Colonial went numb. At lesser establishmetns I am sure they wre throwing stuff. I had to watch the replay 5x, still couldn't believe they let the US player do that.

But, CR can repay the favor. US lost last week and play power house Mexico next week. A loss by the US could knock them out.

i think i was there for the 09 game if it was a tie. the US was down 2-0 late and then it ended knotted. i had just walked in to a full tico restaurant w my girl and sat down for dinner. I don't really give two shits about soccer but i noticed it on a tv and when US scored its first goal i let out a YEAH USA cheer and laughed. then they scored again and i was just thinking wow that was sort of amazing but didn't say anything and then the game was over.
the waitress brought the food and said congratulations. i was like wait a minute i don't really care about that and was just fooling around but it was tie so no big deal right? no we had knocked them out. ooooh.
so the place is full and silent. and i'm looking at this plate of food. nah not hungry. then a beer came from the bar on the house. thats cool. but i'm not eating that food. i nibbled chips and let her eat and after finishing that beer we kind of slunk out of there. people were cool in general but some drunks were mad dogging.
