CRT Brother Noneya . I would be glad to give you the info. Dr. Alex Lopez , who is partners in Rio Indio Lodge is a friend of mine. I visited the Lodge about 4 years ago. It is an excellent facility with great fishing. Just about any type of fishing you want. I went fishing up there for a couple of days. Had a great time. Dr. Lopez mentioned that Nicaragua was going to put in an airstrip in nearby Greytown. I personally didn't think it would happen but last year it was in. He told me about the Visa runs, a lost leader for him, as a way to show some people, expats if you will, the lodge. I thought it was a great idea and was willing to pass it on as an alternative to the traditional visa runs via bus to Nicaragua and Panama. The reason I said pm me is because he or his marketing director is not a CRT member. I don't often promote businesses who are not. I do plug business who are CRT members and give good service. You know who you are. I like helping people, making new friends and giving clients more than they expect. Just as I have posted about my $300 vasectomy with a doctor at Hospital Biblica and other topics, we who live here need to help each other out. If someone hires me to drive them to the border, yes, there is a charge. Anyone would. But for me to refer someone to another service provider, it's on me. Anyone can do their own research. I happen to like the Club sandwich at the M.L., however Tommy isn't going to give me a commission for you eating one there. So, if you would like to get in touch with the fine people of Rio Indo Lodge and do the trip, you can contact Eric Gibbs, the Sales and Marketing guy at marketing@rioindiolodge.com. Ask him what the cost is.'And ask him how much commission I have made. And ask CRT member cburns, who posted about the trip he and his wife took, about the trip. Spam, not hardly, Spam for what? After many trips to CR, I have found a easy an inexpensive way to travel from the airport to the city is by bus. You just walk out of airport go left down the ramp when you get to the street walk 150 feet to the right to bus stop. I hardly ever have to wait and the bus may take five minutes longer than a taxi. The price is a little over $1.00 . I arrive at bus station in San Jose and catch a taxi to hotel for about $2.00.
I suggest everyone try it one time. No hassle and beats $14.00 for shuttle or $30.00 for taxi. When I leave San Jose I do it just the opposite . Taxi to bus station and bus to Airport. Except bus to airport costs less than a dollar. If everyone knew what I know there would be no taxis at the airport. No the bus does not stop every 100 feet it probably stops three times to pickup or let passengers off. I have traveled a few times to Nicaragua by Tica Bus. sometimes the bus are very nice and comfortable and sometimes just adequate. If you do plan on returning on a Monday make sure you book it that way. I did not and had to return on a Tuesday due to no seat available. I noticed Valleria is for sale. I think the asking price is a little steep but someone may pay it. It was listed on Craigslist for $489.000. I heard that the bar Margarita's might want to sell. That probably would be a better buy since it is on the main Calsada. I travel all over Nicaragua on the buses and though crowded you can travel the whole Country for about $5.00. Great deal if you want to see the country. Again I say" just get on the Bus Gus"

I really hope that "The Admin" has the tools to stamp out this cucaracha here in San Jose who has been a cancer on this board for long enough for his own self/obvious interests.

IMHO If he/"The Admin" does not address this...this great forum will continue to go south. He is trying to bully discounters away from CRT VIP card holders. Please use a De Vinci device or any other non-evasive non -violent tool necessary to get him out. It has been a good long ride with CRT but enough is enough with this one guy. I am not ready to submit to this poor fella, however come on, enough is enough!

I need someone to explain the political BS that has gone down in my 12 month absence from this site. I found the information on this post helpful in between the character assassinations of the not old, less than credible, or oldbe in disguise. This is about information bud! I for one may give the lodge a try. You don't have to be a CR member business to offer a good service!! Got a gripe about Mr. sid or lucky dogg, use his service and complain or offer an alternative that works. But lets hope admin. does not kick this character off because like a television we can ignore him and change the channel or just fight with him and on a good day that can be fun too.

I would like to know more about san juan del sur that Greengo was referring to, I am coming for a month and I would like to explore Nicaragua for a few days as I get bored staying in San Jose, Puerto Viejo/ Quepos for more than a few days at a time.
