Hadn't been to HLH since last summer, so this was my first time there since the change in ownership. I'll talk about the chica situation in the appropriate forum. This will just focus on the hotel. Checked in on a Sunday. Very quiet. The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. I ate breakfast there every day and enjoyed the food and the convenience. I also had chicken parm twice and felt it was excellent - nicely cooked (and large) chicken, decent sauce, lots of cheese, and correctly cooked pasta...not to mention some fresh garlic bread.

I liked the two girls at the front desk. I like all three bartenders. I got a chance to took on a few occasions with Jeff, one of the new owners. Very nice guy. Really trying to get the place in order. Drink prices were reasonable. I like what they've done to the bar area and also the front desk area.

The rooms still need some TLC (paint, etc.), but Jeff knows that. The bug problem was not too bad - I saw a few small roaches running around, but Jeff is working on that with some pesticides from the U.S.

Overall, I had a good, comfortable stay and was treated very nicely by the staff. I will return.

PS - that said, I've also stayed in the past at SL and La Amistad and liked both of those places as well.

Agreed! There has been some real improvements done by Jeff and the crew. What I noticed is that Jedd is a really good guy who cares about his customers being happy. He also is working on establishing a niche with being more of a daytime place to relax. He also mentioned the pesticide issue and what he is now able to do to take care of the problem.

The front deck is much more modern and that staff is also much more customer friendly than before.

Spent St Patrick's Day weekend at HLH. It was a great time. The party on Saturday night was quite enjoyable. There were many ladies in attendence, sand I considered the selection great. Drink prices were really good with 2 for 1 Jagermeister and Jamesons. I read where people complain about the talent at HLH. I am not sure why. I find the ladies friendly, attractive and very accommodating. There is never any hassle about price or service (at least, I have never had any). The owners are going in the right direction with the improvements. I recommend you visit the HLH and develop your own opinion.
